Ah, therein lies the problem, my interest is in everything. lol.

I'm not sure where to start. If I could get just three books I'd want something on WWII, Korea and Vietnam but there is so much from each war you can't cram it into one book. I really don't know where to begin, either biographies or military strategies. I'm lost. :(

Yeah MacArthur was involved in that too. He supposedly exceeded his orders. The Foxhole did a thread on the "Bonus Army"

If you ever read anything about Operation Sealion, the plans for the German invasion of England, you'd be surprised by how thew Germans jury rigged all kinds of craft for landing craft. I don't see how it could ever have worked.

Specialized landing craft made all the difference in amphibious invasions.

Well your HO is a good one. I don't know why we're paying them back pay. Detain them, do background checks and get rid of the Baath party members.

[at a display of dropping supplies by parachute]

"Lieutenant George Acres: Monty, that parachute that didn't open... Suppose we were to drop a fellow out of a plane over enemy territory, with papers on him saying we were going to invade Greece, and his parachute didn't open. The Germans would find him dead, and the papers, and "Aha," they'd say, "Look at this. Officer with secret papers, parachute didn't open... they're going to invade Greece."

Lieutenant Commander Ewen Montagu: Do we tell the man who jumps that the parachute doesn't work, or is it a sort of practical joke that he finds out on the way down?

Lieutenant George Acres: Well, of course it would have to be somebody you didn't mind much about.

Lieutenant Commander Ewen Montagu: Are you volunteering? No, George, it wouldn't work.

Lieutenant George Acres: What about using a man already dead?

Lieutenant Commander Ewen Montagu: The autopsy would show he was dead before he hit the ground. Let's get back to the office and think again."

They don't write dialogue like that anymore.

Howdy SAM!
Looks like we see eye to eye on the matter. As long as the Ba'ath Party members are floating around, our troops will remain in danger of attacks. Getting rid of them is part of regime change, I'd think.

*giggle* Now I've really gotta get outta here. It's sooooo hard to leave FR and FRiends here. I've always had that problem. LOL! See ya tonight!
