Or maybe not good quality rum!
*** But it felt like a third world country, not a territory of the United States. Graffiti everywhere, bars on windows, barbed wire around my hotel.***
Sounds like parts of NYC.
By the way, we were in Brooklyn 2 weeks ago for a family event. Went into a CVS there looking for snacks for our hotel room. Everything, and I mean everything, was behind locked shelves. I’ve never been in a place where everything was locked up like that. It gave me the heebie jeebies, so we left and found a small grocery store.
Living like that is very strange to me. I don’t understand why people choose to live that way.
‘Just do it. The statehood idea-nip it in the bud’
Excellent idea!
Most likely.
I’m with you on this one.
Great minds think alike.
I wouldn’t cut them off cold turkey. Make it gradual with the penal colony contracts. $20 minimum wage with $25 maximum. Avoid the vacuum that the Chicoms could fill.
I still use a line from that movie. “Hey bartender! Jobu needs a refill!”
“ Residents took to the streets calling for sovereignty, and native entertainers, including Bad Bunny, have been fueling this movement”
Sounds like a plan. The Philippines and PR were acquired at the same time. The Philippines became independent in 1946.
The time has come. Can they start tomorrow?
“ they’ll likely end up making Haiti look like a paradise in comparison”
No one will ever beat Haiti in the dump department. Not even PR.
Someone’s gotta light a fire under their asses. That someone should be GOP. Democrats would be the first to do it if there was something in it for them.
