I can understand that.. as a Air Force Vet.. I find it unnatural to this day to walk into a building with a hat (cover) on.. or walk out of one without one.
But I have learned over time to overcome those ingrained urges... its still there.. but suppressed.

Only if reporting to a officer “as ordered” in their own office. (usually only if your in deep trouble).. that is the ONLY circumstance outside of being under arms.

I know you were, but your clarification here explains a situation I had with an AF General. I wondered why I got 'that' look.
