Hi Mayor, ready to go roofing today??

Lovely day here today, temp 63F with 80% humidity. Going into the 70s, not bad.

To: bentfeather
Yup, running out now. It takes a couple hours everyday to update my Blog so I get out late and work late.

It's been a really nice week so far, and supposed to be nice the rest of it.

You are gonna have to post pictures, you know.

;-)

To: Peanut Gallery
LOL. You know we will. It might take us a week or so.

Out here we have what's called "country cable". It's cable hooked up to a satellite. Not real reliable but we'll just have to get used to it.

Hopefully the movers will arrive the 1st or 2nd.

We could use a new thread, maybe a lazy Sunday thread to share pictures and news. Maybe even a surprise. You know how we like to give surprises to the Foxhole. :-)

Thank you Mayor. It was the toughest attempt at getting a home loan I've ever had! It was truly awful and for no reason. The realtor up here suggested a local bank and this is Southern Georgia out in the stick country. Boy were they tough. Praise God though, he came through.
We hate to give up the house in NC but that would be a really long commute. :-)

LOL. Yeah, beam me up! Poor Sam has to travel down the 8 hours with the two dogs! We'll certainly be laboring over the Labor Day weekend. If it would cool down a bit we could cook out probably on Monday, we'll see.

God Fights Against Us

 READ:
Joel 2:12-17Who knows if He will turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind Him? Joel 2:14 In Joels book of prophecy, God  declared: I am in the midst of Israel . . . . My people shall never be put to shame (2:27). But earlier in the chapter God promised to fight against His people. A plague of locusts would descend like a ravenous army on the nation (vv.2-11).
Its hard to fathom that the Lord would fight against His chosen people. But Israel had given their affections to other gods.
In fact, God had fought against them before. Wherever they went out, the hand of the Lord was against them for calamity (Judges 2:15).
I have learned that if my own heart wanders away from God, I can count on Him to fight to bring me back. If I become proud and self-assured, if reading Gods Word and spending time in prayer seem like a waste of time, God will step in and deal with me.
God will fight against us for our good. He permits us to experience defeat so that we will listen to Him when He says, Rend your heart, and not your garments; return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness (Joel 2:13).
Dont wait for God to fight against you before you seek His face. Return to Him today. Albert Lee

 Each time we go astray,
He lifts His chastening hand in love
To help us find His way.  D. De Haan
