Wow. Is that a REAL metal slide? I remember my mom giving us wax paper to take to the park slide to make it a smooth ride!

Thanks for the link, PE.

OK, everybody, fess up! Are you a young-Elvis fan or an old-Elvis fan? I'm still in love with young Elvis.

I guess you all know I've always wanted to be Ann Margaret.

Honest to gawd.

It's a steel slide painted white. We understand the cousins used to use car wax on it. Bittygirl would sail into the next neighborhood if we did that right now.

Taking God At His Word

These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life. —1 John 5:13

Many true believers in Christ are plagued with doubt about their salvation. Even though they have come in repentance and faith to Jesus as their Savior, they still wonder, “Will I really go to heaven?”

My late husband Bill often told about something that happened to him when he was 2 years old. One day he disobediently wandered from home and got lost. When his parents realized that he was missing, they went out searching for him. Finally, to everyone’s immense relief, they spotted their tearful boy and carried him safely home.

Days later, Billy overheard his mother relate this incident to a visitor. When she reached the part where they went out searching for him, Billy began to relive the story. “Mommy, Mommy!” he sobbed. “Did you ever find me?” Surprised and deeply touched by his doubt, she embraced him and said, “Of course, my child! Don’t you remember that happy moment? See, you’re with us now, and we’ll make sure that you always are.” That comforted Billy, because he took her at her word.

The New Testament letter of 1 John was written to give believers the assurance of salvation. That assurance can be yours as you take God at His word. Joanie Yoder

Good morning, alfa6.

I didn't think you'd want a car for my birthday, so I'm giving you an airplane.

I didn't forget your birthday present, PE. I was thinking about getting you a boat, but I decided the Peanut Gallery would like a beamer.

Happy Birthday Samwise.

Before everyone disappears from this thread we have a bit of news to share. I received a good job offer in Florida so we've decided to eventually move down there for a few years. We can't afford to keep more than one home at a time, LOL. So here we go again. Tallahassee here we come.

I'm currently looking for a place to stay as I start my job on the 17th. They didn't give me much time!

The logistics of getting a new home and selling this one will take some time. It seems our life is never dull.

We miss you all, we just have so much going on it seems we never have time to sit and chat. Keeping our heads above water takes a lot of energy. :-)

Perhaps after we settle in FL we'll have more time.

Well, I had to hurry and exchange your birthday present. The salesman looked at me like I was nuts when I traded in your Lamborghini. But it sounds like you will need this more.
