Faith & Riches
. . . that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance. Ephesians 1:18
|
Do you want to be rich? Do you think your faith will bring you riches? What kind of riches are you looking for?
There's good news and bad news if wealth is what you want. The good news is that God's Word does promise riches to the believer. The "bad" news is that it doesn't have anything to do with money.
Here are some examples of the riches that can be ours as believers in Jesus Christ:
- An understanding of God the Father and the Son, "in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Colossians 2:2-3).
- Christ, "the hope of glory," living in us (Colossians 1:27).
- Mighty strength in our inner being, "through His Spirit" (Ephesians 3:16).
- Having all our needs met by God (Philippians 4:19).
- The "wisdom and knowledge of God" (Romans 11:33).
- "Redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins," which comes from God's grace (Ephesians 1:7).

Yes, God's Word promises us great richestreasures that we cannot even attempt to purchase with any amount of money. It is these riches that we must seek, enjoy, and use to glorify their sourceour heavenly Father. Dave Branon
The treasures of earth are not mine,
I hold not its silver and gold;
But a treasure far greater is mine;
I have riches of value untold. Hartzler
God's Word promises riches that money cannot buy.

When our kids were little we did not use the playpen much, just put the kids on the floor and let them fend for themselves :-)
Other than maybe taking naps the most use the playpen saw was when I drilled out the rivets to use it for a fence to protect the Christmas Tree from toddlers.

I think that particular meal was stew. We used beef broth instead of water and boy was it yummy!

It gets most of its use during school. There is no way we could homeschool right now without it. This past weekend, we used it mostly to prevent bittygirl from going into to brush, or into the road while we were otherwise trying to get things done. She wouldn't sleep in it.
We also have a small tent for in which she sleeps at Grandma's house. We ended up not using that at all. What we did do was get out the ole baby sling. That was the only way I could get bittygirl to take a nap.

What's up with the air mattress? LOL. No roughin' it on Spider Boy's first camp out!
