It sounds like a good weekend for a John Wayne movie. I think you're right. I'll send Sam to the video rental store!

After the rain cleared out it turned beautiful here too. Cold front is coming in tonight though. Going to dropp the temp by 20 degrees tomorrow. The wind is gusting about 30 mph right now.

Hi snippy! How are things up your way?
Yes, spring is in full swing in the Tennessee hills. Lots of things putting forth pretties to admire.
Here are a couple of nice close-ups taken on the farm within the past few days.

Very pretty, thanks. Things are going well here. Spring along with it's rain arrived here about a month ago. The "Sam and Snippy Store" is coming along. Can you believe I've been here a little over a year now?

Glad to hear things are going well. Has it been a year already?!! Man, it doesn't seem like that long, does it?
Good to know the "Sam and Snippy Store" is doing well, too. I'm wishing y'all a huge success with that. :-)
It's been beautiful in the South this week but we're getting ready to be hit with a bit of winter once again this weekend. boo hiss! They're even predicting frost tomorrow night. YIKES!! We farmers are not very pleased with that prospect as we have crops coming up in the fields right now. The cold is gonna clobber those tiny plants. :-(

The Hatfield - McCoy business was over the War.
Alvin York's granddad, as I recall, had been in the Pall Mall area during the war, wearing blue, and came back to marry his east Tennessee sweetheart. He was told again and again to get out, leave, or die. Tough guy, ready to fight. Figured to stay. He was killed in an ambush.
The Redleg - renegade fighting on the Missouri border, Quantrill etc., was not the only place and time like that. The carpetbag governments in the South had courts, and these courts would hang because of obviously perjured testimony. All the time. Arrest warrants ending in "shot trying to escape" were routine. Burning down a house with the family inside was everyday, by law enforcement as well as renegades.
