Lace making. I bet you would need good eyesight and lots of patience for that.

Adams, who once had said that he thought the prospect of seeing the French army in America was about as great as seeing it in Heaven, announced a diplomatic mission to France to seek a peaceful solution to the imbroglio.

France has since warned Romania that its allegiance to the U.S. does not mean obedience.

France, who does not recognize allegiance to other than itself, as though with one voice it asserts, L'etat c'est moi.

Here's to that most understated epitaph:

TO THE LEADER WHO NEVER ABUSED
THE POWER ENTRUSTED TO HIM

Our friend Sandy died this morning of brain cancer at home among loved ones attended by Hospice.

We have an iris she painted for us on the bedroom wall.

We had dinner with Lucianne Goldberg through mutual friends here in the summer of 2000. I brought greetings from Sandy and Lucianne replied, "She's one of our best posters; she brightens everything up."

And so it ought to be; friends are joy. To be here among friends is joy.

ROBIN WILLIAMS/COMEDIAN: For me, he was
the guy that I saw make my father laugh, and I went, God,
that must be amazing, because my father was a tad stern.

JONATHAN WINTERS: Well, I'll tell you very honestly without getting carried away in a very long answer. I think comedy -- and whether I think it's the rarest thing -- I'm sure others hopefully would agree -- that laughter is probably one of the rarest things we have. Even look at the minerals, diamonds, and rubies and gold and silver and platinum, oil, all these little goodies that bring so much wealth to people. But as far as laughter, and you can say yes, those are very rare. And they are, they're rare. But how often can you say to yourself or to your wife or -- excuse me -- your loved ones, whatever, that you sat down and watched this specific show in television and in the movies, whatever, and found yourself out of the chair and on the floor? That's how rare laughter is. That's how rare comedy is. We don't find ourselves on the floor very often.

In other news, Iran the world's *premier state sponsor of terrorism, and Russia which just signed a security agreement with Syria *(we're number two, but we try harder), have agreed to play patty-cake with plutonium.

Evening Phil Dragoo.

Our friend Sandy died this morning of brain cancer at home among loved ones attended by Hospice.

Please accept my condolences and the loss of your friend, Sandy.

I liked Dark Skies, thought it was a pretty good series.

Russia has major problems with Muslems and yet cozies up to two of the biggest sponsers of world terrorism, go figure.

Fox News just now: Geraldo Rivera with an Israeli official who says they have transmissions showing orders came from Damascus for the recent bombing which killed four.

I favor doing the Mexican hat dance on the Syrian troops in Lebanon.

They don't have to leave; they can be destroyed in place.

A little Maria Benitez flamenco stomp using daisy cutters, MOABs, napalm, nukes, the kitchen sink.

They've had ten years to get out; time's up.
