On March 2, 1864, Bloody Bill married Bush Smith, a young girl from Sherman, Texas

Sherman is a whole 20 minutes from here.

I, who had some ancestors who came from Missouri (Calloway County to be exact), have no problem with Bloody Bill Anderson or William S. Quantrill either. After all what W.T. Sherman U.S.A. did on his infamous march through Georgia far surpasses anything that either of these two Southern partisans did. AND Sherman had the US Government's tacit blessing to wage war on civilian lives and property.

Yet who always ends up being villified? Quantrill and Anderson. If somebody had done that to my kin, I suppose I'd be in a blood feud rage too.
