Yea, I always have liked that cartoon, ever since I saw it right after 9/11.

1997 HAL becomes operational (2001: A Space Odyssey); this date was given as January 12, 1992 on screen, but 1997 is the date used in both the novel and screenplayI'm afraid I can't do that Dave.

but the eagle must be reminded that smoking is hazardous to its health. LOL. It gives me the thought, "You wanna mess with ME?".
Uncle Sam looks like Rambo! :-)
Way back in the 1980's, when the Earth was still cooling, I saw an advertisement in the Sacramento, CA newspaper for a "Ronbo" t-shirt. I've been kicking myself ever since for not ordering one. The shirt had the same image of Rambo on it, but had Ronald Reagan's face/head. One tough Hombre.

Morning PE. An Uncle Sam for today's world :-) Hiya Sam.
He sure is. This is one of my favorite post 9/11 cartoons. The other is the Eagle filing his claws.

Interesting post.
Thinking about Canada's history and the images of a muscular Uncle Sam make me a little sad. At one time, Canada stood tall with the rest of the English-speaking nations in standing for individual freedom and opposing fascism and communism. What a terrible toll the socialists have taken over the last 40 years; now Canada acts just like the Euroweenie states.
But I take heart from the fact there are energetic conservatives working hard to renew and reform Canada. After all, conservatism looked dead in the U.S. in 1964.
