Wonderful idea Cholera Joe, and great work, Neil! I'll send my father's photo and some info from the Tribute page until I can pull a bio together. Donation already sent.

From the Home page of Portraits of Freedom:

These pages are dedicated to those who have died, incurred injuries, and otherwise served and sacrificed in defense of FREEDOM, and America’s security, at home and abroad.

These are your sons and daughters; they are you husbands and wives; they are your brothers and sisters; and they are your friends. Most importantly, they are your protectors. They give so you can live in security within a world of aggression.

This site is for them. It simply exists so they are not forgotten, and to specifically honor their contributions to our American way of life.

We invite all who personally know of these dedicated Americans to submit their names, photos, biographies, etc. to help build a virtual “wall of recognition”.

Portraits of Freedom exists solely to give thanks and some much deserved recognition to the men and women of our Armed Forces and Merchant Marine, active, reserve or veteran - past and present.

Thank you, and God bless our Armed Services and Merchant Marine.

ALL GAVE SOME - SOME GAVE ALL!

VETERANS FOR CONSTITUTIONAL RESTORATION (VetsCoR) ANNOUNCES THE ARMED FORCES CYBER MEMORIAL - "PORTRAITS OF FREEDOM"

Lake Havasu City, AZ., February 24, 2005 - Veterans for Constitutional Restoration (VetsCoR), Inc. has created a web site dedicated to honoring America's Armed Services, past and present, and is now accepting submissions of service personnel biographies and photos.

The Portraits of Freedom (Portraits) web site - http://www.portraitsoffreedom.org - was created to memorialize all active duty, reserve, and veterans who served honorably. This easily navigated site provides links to each branch of service and instructions on how to make submissions to a permanent "virtual tribute" for those who have served. Portraits has no advertisements or other agendas and exists solely to remember the millions who have sacrificed some - and the some who have sacrificed all.

VetsCoR believes we owe a large debt of gratitude to our fellow veterans, current military service men and women, and to the memory of our fallen comrades, who undertook to lay their lives on the line for their country and its people. To that end, Portraits provides a place where families, friends, and other supporters of our Armed Services can memorialize the fallen or deceased, and also honor the living men and women who answered their country's call to duty.

Veterans for Constitutional Restoration is a tax-exempt, non-profit, non-partisan educational organization. Our primary mission is to educate the American public about the history and scope of our Constitution and its original intent for our Republic. Our purpose is also to support our military and veterans.
