Dear snippy_about_it,I have been there(Custer National Battlefield)twice. It's a MOVING experience! You kind of get the feeling that there are a lot of unhappy spirits there!!The first time I went there,I stuffed a pocket with prairie grass from"Custer Ridge".I have it to this day as I also have sand from Omaha Beach and little pine-cones from The US Cemetery(overlooking Omaha Beach. This was(of course)the location of the 352nd Panzer Grenadiers that so strongly opposed the landings there!!!GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear SAMWolf,As I'm certain you are aware, this is a fanciful rendition! The Indians were not attacking on horseback. They made great use of the series of ravines and hillocks above The Little Big Horn.

All part of the "Hollywood" version of history.

George A.Custer entered battle on that hot June day encumbered by TWO grave handicaps. The first was that he grossly underestimated the numbers and fighting qualities of his enemies; The second was his lust to regain the celebrity that was once his with Philip Sheridan, and W.T Sherman.

Dear Don W,Actually, there were THREE handicaps! He(Custer)divided his command into four forces.Had they been one(about 8oo strong),they probably wouldn't have prevailed anyway, but they would have had a better chance due to massing of firepower.Custer refused Terry's offer of The Gatling Guns(he thought they would slow his march!!If he had accepted the incumbrance of these weapons, the Indians either would have escaped or Custer,Terry, and Crook(from the south)would have sealed the Indian's fate!!!
To: SAMWolf
No pictures can really do it justice. Many things seem to hit you this way. Sometimes I don't take photos, because I know they won't do the subject justice.

Hello.
Got some non-important running around in circles done, finally.
Now the important running in circles is getting done.
And then it's on to more running in circles.
(I just LOVE Fridays, they're more like Mondays for me.)

"now let's see what Putin does."
A. he will try again to steal elections.
B. he will try to start some revolution in eastern Ukraine, which is populated mostly by Russian minority and Russian language Ukrainians and then...
B1 - Russian army will step in and Russia will incorporate this land.
B2 - he will try to create some separatists puppet government in this part of Ukraine.
C. he will do nothing.
My ranking:
I-B2
II-A
III-B1
IV-C
