How old do you think I am??? Well, actually, since I grew up in a family of mossback conservatives who weren't fond of change I did hear it called Armistice Day!
"...in Southwest Asia" ?
I must say that I've got no idea what they mean.
I'm always late, or way too early.
One or the other..
This morning the editor called me and is going to publish my email letter of complaint. I am glad as I detest veterans being "slighted"
Thank you for the welcome and I'm sorry for the late reply but I just saw it. I do have an interest and I don't know very much about it, just the basics they teach in school. I guess this is the right place for me.
LOL.
Sam and I were just looking at this old thread to use it for testing some of my html for tomorrow's thread (I always use and old thread in case I accidentally post an error) and we saw this response from you about Armistice Day. Cute.
See, we eventually get around to reading everything! Even 3 years later!!
Love ya, Snippy and SAM
We had a disgusting development out here. A group of four claiming to be Iraq veterans for "peace" got the city to let them join the local Veterans Day parade. People have lost their history. This isn't a political event, it was started to honor the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, when the horror of WWI finally ended. Later, it was enlarged to honor veterans of all wars. Adding some jerks who want to draw attention to their politics was just wrong.
But then, in recent years the city has tried to take away Christmas and Columbus Day celebrations too.
