The Sucharski story may be true or not true. One thing is for sure, seen it before, you can't tell who will stand up under the pressure and who will not. A guy can be a lion again and again and all at once, suddenly, can't do it anymore.

Your Sucharski story makes good sense. As I understand human nature, anyway. Can happen just the way you say.

I pray it never happens to me. But for sure as sure, "There but for the Grace of God go I." You just cannot tell ahead of time how a person will act under such great pressure.

Most especially you cannot tell what you, yourself, will do.

People get nuttily reckless, go totally panic stricken. Sit down and won't move or talk. Memories.

This is literally true.

The Chinese are negotiating like mad over Kim Jong Il. The last offer was to neutralize North Korea in return for a free hand in Taiwan. They are going to settle for a lot, lot less.

The President is working with the brutally smart President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The Chinese are deeply rattled. They sound freaked, to me, in their propaganda. Notice the Iran - China link, and the near total reliance China has on foreign oil and natural gas.

Think of how Old Europe sees the new world shaping up. Tough luck, guys. You had your chance.

I think President Bush may have already prevented war with China. With Clinton war with China was inevitable. The Chinese would have thought Americans were all easy lays like that honorless bastard.
