When we heard about the co-ordinated Union Goon Squad attacks on Republican Campaign Headquarters I told Snippy I had a certain image in my mind from history.

The signs today could read "Union Members - Don't vote Republican!"

One thing we can probably all agree on is that in today's world most of the bad appears to be on the left.Absolutely. Heck, there aren't many regimes in the world today that I'd consider Right in the classical sense. It's sort of an truism that if you're murdering your or someone else's citizens, you're not upholding the virtues of the right.

LOL! Mostly PITH, some fun. I had some meetings in Charleston. Not enough time to get out to Ft. Sumter, but I did see it from the Battery. Those rich folks would have had quite a view of the bombardment.

Charleston was hot and muggy, especially given what I'm used to. Interesting place, though. The antebellum mansions in the old battery area show that people were making a lot of money from being a major port. I wished I'd had time to get out to Sumter and see some of the museums. Ate some mighty good seafood - I've never had shrimp and grits before!
