Matt, You have to read "Rising '44" It'll make your heart swell with pride and break at the same time. An excellent account of the Polish Underground .

Both my granddads didn't live to Free Independent Poland. :-(

They surely helped to contribute to it though.

My father's dad died in February,1989, four months before the end of communism in Poland.

Hopefully he knew a Free Poland was coming.

Thanks for the great photos and graphics of the Polish Cavalry.

There were still Cavalry in use by most of the combatants in 1939. I remember reading an account of a Polish Cavalry attack against German infantry, can't remember which book it was though. :-(
