Hi Sam

There's been some great D-Day programing on History channel and PBS...VCR has been busy.

It seems so long ago..yet as per history..just blink...yesterday.

The SS were just as crazed in the west as in the East.
A Canadian documentary noted the numbers of executed -captured soldiers after D-day 135+...one in the chest..one in the head.
*Panzer Meyers divison.

IKE with Tom Selleck was O.K.....De Gaul..what a peice of $....

Earlier...at Casablanca.....De Gaul was causing trouble..tantrauming..sulking.
Winston tried and tried to get him to co-operate.
President Roosevelt humilated De Gaul infront of the press corp, when asked.."Where is De Gaul"?
Leaning over to Winston..and saying aloud so the press corp could hear..Rossevelt said..."Yes indeed...When is She going to get here!" : )

Chirac..Vellipen.....blocks of stinky cheese like De Gaul.

The price the allies paid to free Europe.....and where are they today?
What disses me....is that Euro Banking houses..Insurance/re-insurance are making a killing off the oil/gas concessions they are party too.
even though Frances Total Fina has lost some concessions in Iraq as fields go..they are throwing in cash on the Inter *Stan pipelines to the Orient..making coin off Kazakhstan..the Turks etc in the Caspian.

Its puke city..these weasels claim the entire U.S. presence is illegitimate..yet they are riding on the back of the U.S. presence and oil/engineering Corporations.

French troops are in Afghanistan..and despite their wretched Gov..they are a smart contingent....AT least the Foreign Legions Legacy lives despite its sleaze gov at home.
They could be in Iraq..but its a better to be like De Gaul...just sicko.
Wonder if some of their soldiers are wretching at the disgrace that is their nations gov.
Poles..Gurkas..others in Iraq...no complaints..no kniving for favors....Honor and duty.

Some say....especially that weasel Kerry and Tubby Kennedy that....President Bush did not build a co-alition of the willing..that he cut Europe out in spite.

Thats a lie from the pit...many nations were offered an invite to participate...most just choose to play their vote in the U.N...toss a small amount of coin.

President Bush was right when he said...the U.N. is useless.

I thought Ike was pretty good too. They made Monty look like the pompous ass he was and De Gaul the arrogant POS he was. Why the US and England decided to include france as a full Ally and give them a piece of Germany after the war is beyond me. They Poles in the Warsaw ghetto and the Warsaw uprising held out longer than france did.

Checking on a blog here in Tennessee I found this photo site with TONS of photos taken by one of our famed 101st in Iraq 101st Iraq photos

Cool. My kid sister was with the Screaming Eagles (or Puking Chickens)during Desert Storm.

I thought Selleck was OK too. They were right on target with Monty and DeGaulle. I didn't like the hit they put on Patton. Patton was pompous, but he was loyal and not ungrateful.

Chirac is thoroughly corrupt. He only beat a corruption rap from his days as Mayor of Paris by using his power as President. It's no coincidence IMHO that our strongest opponents on Iraq and the strongest supporters of islamo-fascist states were the fascist and communist states of WWII - and I do mean to include France in that list.

Getting attacked from both borders by the Germans and the Soviets put the Poles in a tough position.
