Cool. You saw the Reagan and Bush from the air. That must have been a great sight!

Nothing like being able to get out of trouble almost as fast as you can get into it.

I thought the USS TARAWA was awesome until Snippy and I drove to with one block of the Fleet Carriers. Now that is impressive!!

You needed a good wind across the deck to launch planes in WWII, that's why carriers always turned into the wind before launching. Not sure why they would want to lauch over the stern. Maybe one of the Squids can answer that.

Even from airliner altitude, the sight of those two carriers was impressive!

The fleet carriers look like small islands!
I saw a task force sail out of Norfolk a couple of years ago. At the tail end of the fleet I saw a wake, but no ship, until I focused in and saw the sail of an attack submarine. I thought, you got your back side covered, skipper.

Just think, the U.S. has a dozen fleet carriers and two more in the nursery, where the French can't keep one midget carrier working. No wonder their dyspeptic.

I heard the french build their ships so that they're easy to scuttle.

They're also more armored in the rear so they can't be easily sunk from behind while running away.

I think the last time the French Navy fired a shot in anger was at the United States Navy in North Africa.

No - with coffee as strong as yours, I've got to cut it off around noon or I'm up 24 hours!

Wish I'd experience that from my coffee.
I don't get that coffee buzz anymore.
*sighs*
Possibly a wise move.
I have heard tell that my coffee will destroy electroic equipment.
(Bad idea alert: Can we drop a bombcase full of my coffee on and French Vessel we run across?)

I betcha the French would even surrender if they were threatened by a coffee bomb!
I don't understand how the French can build the Queen Mary II, the most advanced passenger ship in the world, but can't build an aircraft carrier power plant that works? In Napoleon's day the French built the best warships in the world - they couldn't sail 'em, but they could build 'em!

The QMII was built to spec's generated by a third party, and used parts and designs generated and supplied by a third party.
*chuckle*
They'd surrender to a marshmallow if they thought it might be threatening enough.
