Clinton did not have a single one-on-one with DCI James Woolsey from Innauguration in 1993 to replacement by odious Deutch in 1995.

Richard Miniter (Losing Bin Laden) presents a compelling case that this was because Woolsey refused Bruce Lindsey's overture on behalf of Clinton to replace Woolsey's CIA General Counsel with an FOB a la Webb Hubbell.

Concurrently, Woolsey was UNsuccessful in obtaining a few million to hire desperately needed Arabic, Farsi, Pashto translators due to the asinine obstruction of one each Dennis DeConcini (Ahole-AZ)--and Tony Lake and Clinton let it happen.

Followed by Robert I-Am-Not-A-Crook Torricelli who forbade CIA hiring any but virgin choirboys.

In the great tradition of Jimmah Carter's USNA chum Stansfield Turner's Halloween 1977 Massacre of 820 (Eight Hundred Twenty) CIA case officers, making U.S. humint an oxymoron.

After the grand tradition of Harry Truman who DISbanded OSS in 1945, thought Joe Stalin was just swell, also deemed Alger Hiss datebait, and eschewed that brute Joe McCarthy.

Let us now acknowledge John Edgar Hoover who realized in 1957 that the gathering in Appalachin, New York was not, after all, a Shackley Vitamin Products Motivational Seminar.

Recommend John Newman, Oswald and the CIA, Carroll & Graff, 1995, for a look at how Oswald was used as a penetration agent, a "dangle", a device to discredit Fair Play for Cuba Committee, a patsy for the hit on JFK, disallowed by FBI, CIA, ONI, DIA and State by destroying, disguising, deleting, suppressing, manufacturing documents, photographs, tape recordings.

Donovan used Eddy who used Coon who used Chapelle to hit Darlan, but that was then, and this is now, and we never, never use assassination as a policy, technique, device, method or instrument.

As for cooperation between FBI and CIA, Clinton prevented it by dragging Main Justice and Grand Jury rules into the hah pursuit of Bin Laden.

Bill Gertz, Breakdown: How America's Intelligence Failures Led to September 11, Regnery, 2002, makes clear this is a concept whose time has not yet come.

George Tenet's performance during the recent Wilson-Plame fiasco makes abundantly clear that the apparatus that spawned Aldrich Ames is still not ready for prime time.

They are not worthy heirs of William Joseph Donovan.

Stewart Menzies

In July 1939 Menzies went to Warsaw to supervise the capture of the Enigma coding device. On his return to Britain he became the Director General of MI6.

Enigma Machine

A list of materials and a measured drawing will be available at the end of the programme.

Jean-Francois Darlan

Jean-Francois Darlan was assassinated in Algiers by, Ferdinand Bonnier de la Chapelle, an anti-Nazi royalist, on 24th December, 1942. Although he had been trained by the SOE and had been a member of the resistance group led by Emmanuel d'Astier, it is believed he was acting as an individual rather than under the orders of any particular group. Watch for the Gerald Posner book reinforcing this hypothesis.

Carleton S. Coon (left above) trained by William A. Eddy trained by William J. Donovan, trained Fernand Bonier de la Chapelle who shot Jean Darlan. Allegedly, although Darlan was incontrovertibly deceased.

Allen Dulles, then-DCI, was canned by JFK after the Bay of Pigs debacle in 1961.

E. Howard Hunt, Give Us This Day, 1973, describes the problem: Castro had three T-33s with .50 cal.s, the invasion force B-26s were warming up on the tarmac to hit 'em, and JFK could not be bothered. Hence, Castro slaughtered the invasion force and Dulles got blamed.

As a member of the Warren Commission, Dulles found no link to any organization in the actions of Oswald; then went home and drank some very old whiskey and had a good laugh.

Fletcher L. Prouty in several books suggests Powers' U-2 was sabotaged to go down May 1, 1960 and torpedo Ike's summit with Howard Kruschev. Powers later spoke out about the event, agreeing with the sabotage theory, and hey crashed and died when his helicopter ran out of gas.

George V. Strong didn't merely deny Donovan access to Enigma and Magic; he denied Einstein a security clearance. He held OSS in disdain as "socially-connected amateurs". He is cited in one source as part of a clandestine assassination group utilizing such outre techniques as anthrax-tipped weapons. He is named as a member of The War and Peace Studies Group of The Council On Foreign Relations from 07/44-09/45. He served Marshall who saw to it that Mao beat Chiang.

Men and animals of Merrill’s Marauders— predecessors to today’s U.S. Army Rangers—cross the Tanai River on a bamboo bridge built by Kachin tribesmen, 1944. OSS personnel and Kachin guerrillas protected the Marauder’s flanks as they fought their way across Burma.

Designed by the O.S.S., the Stinger is a small one shot 22 calibre weapon, factory loaded, and cannot be reloaded. It can be cocked and fired with one hand. 10 Stingers are packed in a wood and cardboard box, sealed in a moisture proof envelope. Each box contains this pictorial instruction sheet.

Handmade prototype of the "Liberator" with a variety of cast and stamped parts, and seamless tubing for the barrel. It is a single shot weapon to shoot .45 ACP cartridges. The grip serves as a storage area for 10 rounds of ammunition. These were air dropped to resistance fighters in a box with one pistol, instructions and 10 rounds of ammunition.

9mm single shot "CIA Deer Gun" out of about 25 known to exist today. CIA assassination weapons ordered destroyed following the murder of President Kennedy.

Liddy has a sanitized pistol in photos of his gun collection in Will

He describes shooting out a light before a black bag job; used an air gun to keep it quiet. His account shows E. Howard Hunt to be a wuss.

But then, compared to Liddy, it's hard to make the cut.

Evening Phil Dragoo.

Thanks for all the additional info on the Intelligence organizaions.

clinton had more "meetings" with Monica than he did with his Intelligence chiefs. I've also heard that he wasn't really trusted with some intelligence. Seems he an hillary "aquired" more intelligence on Repulicnas than they did on the real bad guys. Oh I forgot to hillary and bill the real bad guys where the Republicans.

They are not worthy heirs of William Joseph Donovan.

No, they aren't. The CIA has still not recovered from the treasonous assault it sustained from the Democratic Party, led by Sen. Frank Church.

Your take on James Jesus Angleton?

Actually the death of JFK scenario you advance was my favorite from 1975 when I first started reading Bay of Pigs material. Since then I find a more whimsical and darker story more appealing. Remember Old Joe was one of those who had been anti-British and anti-war and suddenly became anti-Nazi and pro-war when the Soviet Union was invaded.

NSAM 263 October 1963 was to withdraw all 15,000 U.S. advisors by the 1964 election.

NSAM 273 November 26, 1963 (the first business day after JFK's funeral) rescinded this policy.

A draft of 273 dated before November 22, 1963 was found.

LBJ was not removed from the 1964 ticket, but moved to the top.

LBJ was not in jeopardy from Billy Sol Estes and Bobby Baker, as Hoover saw to that.

Hoover was not retired January 1, 1965, as LBJ saw to that.

Dulles had his revenge, Specter his launching pad to access, Hunt his walk on the wild side.

The payback to the Kennedy dynasty was begun with a sizable down payment, to be followed by another installment in 1968.

The Irish bootlegger allied to the Nazis, jumping to the Party line when Barbarossa was sprung.

Who knew the younger Harvard cheat would become a dirigible of greenhouse gas?

Angleton had Yuri I. Nosenko for 1400 days and knew nothing of interest for his patient efforts better reserved for his orchids.

Has the agency developed an immunity to the Ames strain?

Gottlieb tried some interesting things, but may have succeeded only in teaching depressives to fly.

Ready to reply, finally!

Nosenko is very interesting, wish debrief transcriptions were available. Sure an outlandish "story".

"Ames strain", indeed.

Lots of interesting people did the same thing as that "Irish bootlegger allied to the Nazis, jumping to the Party line when Barbarossa was sprung." Wonder what Hoover did with that material.
