Good evening to all at the Foxhole!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
THANK YOU for serving the USA!

No, I didn't run away from home or anything. LOL! We've been having conflicting software problems with the ISP and our 'puter. The new upgrade CD should be here Tuesday and with luck, that'll smooth things back out. Fingers crossed.
If I can get this to post, I'll consider it a miracle!
I hope everyone's had a good weekend!
*HUGZ* all 'round.

Thanks for sharing your experiences ! : )
In a past thread on Foxhole..found a report from WW-2 where a Sherman tank crew had been stowing Wine bottles in the inside turret rack..and putting the rounds out back behind the turret.
Their had been many incidents of munitions going off inside Shermans.
This investigator was miffed as the T.C. didn't seem to give a rip about the reality of rounds in boxes on the tanks deck...
His comment was that the Shermans rounds didn't stop the Tigers they were facing...so he and his buds would rather have the Vino..than the rounds : )

Thanks EOD . . . very insightful (and generous to share).
Sam, I don't know your tastes in movies but "Dr. Strangelove" is pure genius in it's dark humor . . . I laughed till it hurt. Peter Seller's at his best.
BTW, "Run Silent, Run Deep" had me on the edge of my recliner.
Goodnight folks . . .

Hi Lightspeed.
I remeber that one too, seems the vino bottles fit just right in the ammo racks.

Oh, I love Dr. Stranglove. Seen it numerous times, just wanted it in my collection plus this edition has interviews with Sellers and Scott plus the original trailers.
Sellers was supposed to play 4 parts, he was injured before getting to film the part of Major "king "kong, so Slim Pickens got the part. I think it worked out better than way. Slim Pickens was perfect IMHO.

Hot damn you got it.You doubted? tsk tsk.
We believe that our Phil can find things that don't exist otherwise. We see it happen all the time at the Foxhole. :-)

probably so!
we had a first soldier in BRD, who was a real piece of work.
while he helped me a bunch when i was a wet behind the ears 2d john, he also nearly drove me to drink with his "eccentricities"!

In one of the amazingly large number of "twists of fate" that have resulted in my being still alive, miracle piled on miracle, is that Navy EOD saved my bacon once. I never would have known about it either except for another strange twist of fate. Makes you wonder how many other times someone has saved your life and you don't even realize something has happened!

That's true. We never know.
I'm sure glad the twist of fate kept you alive.

Hi, Snippy,
Good to be here. Figure the Almighty has some important job for me, so I keep my eyes peeled for what needs doing. Being as good a Dad as I can, and getting better at it as fast as Grace makes possible fits the bill until the next big job comes along!
And I get to talk to you and SAM! It is a wonderful world! (Had a productive day at work, the big problems just dissolved as I went head to head with them. Just got home, and the world is very good!!)
