Even if you were off a few thousand yards it gives me a better idea, because I had no idea! LOL.

In all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses. —2 Corinthians 6:4

If we commit ourselves to Christ
And follow in His way,
He'll give us life that satisfies
With purpose for each day

To get the most out of life, make every moment count for Christ.

There were experiments in the 60's and 70's using Rocket Assisted Projectiles (RAP) that extended the 16" up to 40 miles.

Good morning U S Army EOD, I was curious as to how far out our ships needed to safely be from shore. Thanks to both you and Darksheare for providing information.

Thanks for the demonstration and good morning!

Despite their history, if we had one of these yesterday, turkey preparation would have been a mere matter of seconds. :)

Hope all is well with you!

LOL. Heck, with a flamethrower we can cook them on the run. Talk about fresh turkey!

Good morning, all is well and I hope the same for you.:)

Ouch.
As aid earlier in the thread, have a book mouldering in my possession about battleships.
Has specs and ballistic performance tables everywhere.
Even shows the performance difference between different powder through the same gun..

Good Morning Snippy.

Let George Carlin tell you about how the flamethrower was really invented.

Think for a moment about flamethrowers. The fact that we have them a all. Well, actually, we don't have them; the army has them. You know, I had not thought of that: the army has all the flamethrowers. I'd say we're jolly well screwed if we have to go up against the army, wouldn't you?

My point is that there are even such things as flamethrowers in the first place. What it indicates to me is that at some point some person, Phil perhaps, said to himself, "Look at all these people across the road. What I wouldn't give to set them on fire! But I'm much too far away. If only I had some device that would shoot flames on them!"

Well, the whole thing might have ended right there, but Phil happened to mention it to his friend Dwyane, one of those people who is good with tools. About a month later Dwayne was back.

"Phil, that idea of yours? Quite a concept! Watch!" WHOOSH! WHOOMPH! CRACKLE! BURN!

Before long, the army came around. "Hi boys! We want to buy 500,000 of those flamethrowers. We have a long list of people we want to set on fire. Give us 500,000, and have them camouflaged. We don't want anyone seeing them until they are fully consumed in flames."

Phil and Dwayne made lots of money and died in a fireworks accident on the 4th of July.

George Carlin. Excerpt from the Book "Napalm and SIlly Putty."

Surviving the surface blast 1 July and the underwater explosion 25 July, she was taken into Kwajalein and decommissioned there 29 August 1946. Later towed to Pearl Harbor, she was studied during the next two years, and on 8 July 1948 was towed out to sea some 40 miles and there sunk after an 8-hour pounding by ships and planes carrying out full-scale battle maneuvers with new weapons.

Boy she was a tough one, she died hard.

Astounding fact #87,912...
Hummingbirds are the only animals able to fly backwards

Hummingbirds are such a joy to watch. We get them all year round in the valley.
