"The war is almost over" fever.
Trouble is, it's not over until all the bad guys are dead.
Over confidence caused the surprise in the Bulge, the signs were there, no one wanted to believe them, same thing happened in Korea.

Our main problem happens to be our "Superiority Complex" we seem to have all the time. It get people killed.

Thanks for the thread, Sam.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Let Us Be Thankful for the Present
Look down on us, oh Lord, we pray
And keep us safe, from day to day.
Blind us from the faults of others,
Teach us to love .... help one another.
Let us be thankful for all we see,
For all we were, and are... will be.
Let us not regret the past,
Nor be the first... a stone to cast.
For while we worry 'bout the future
and regret the past ....
The present.... we should be thankful for,
Slips away.........so fast !!!

There's a fine line between instilling confidence and beingcoming over confident. It's not an easy job to make sure your men have one without crossing over to the other.
Like you said it gets men killed.
