Coyotes have apparently spread east since about 1900. This partly because wolves and mountain lions were killed off and/or could not adapt to agricultural and urban areas. Coyotes are not found in 49 states, as far south as Panama, and in cities and suburbs.

In michigan, it is legal to shoot to kill, if done safely, no seasonal restrictions.

I've got a dog who is a Cayote Killer. She grew up on a cattle ranch and her father taught her to kill cayotes. She's never barks, and is the biggest fluffball snuggler you could ever image. She looks like this. (Not mt dog by nearly identical)

I’ve Coyotes come through the farm behind my back fence. They don’t bother me and I don’t bother them.
