Dr. Timothy Paul, the answer to a question no one asked.
Try it this way: Wow....the Romney, Huckabee, and Thompson campaigns chose to compete in some small straw poll and were beaten by a one percenter who gets no media coverage, named Ron Paul. Whoopie is the wrong word. That is what these campaigns lack, not what they have.
The failure of Romney, Thompson, et. al to win a small straw poll against Ron Paul (though they competed) shows that they have generated a singular lack of enthusisam. Apparently, people who support these candidates don't care enough to show up.
Oh yeah. I forgot to add...
Thanks Ron Paul for buying a couple hundred tickets. We needed the money to support real candidates.
This is so pathetic, it's almost cute.
Now, here's the real story:
RON PAUL 208 votes
MITT ROMNEY 26 votes
MIKE HUCKABEE 20 votes
TOM TANCREDO 8 votes
JOHN MCCAIN 7 votes
ALOYSIUS COX 5 votes
DUNCAN HUNTER 5 votes
FRED THOMPSON 5 votes
RUDY GIULIANI 3 votes
SAM BROWNBACK 1 vote
UNDECIDED BECAUSE THE REAL VOTE ISN'T UNTIL 2008* 54,000+ votes
* estimate based on the real NH 2004 Republican presidential primary, not some meaningless "straw poll" with a couple hundred attendance
WOW! He won in a SINGLE county in New Hampshire (he also won a single county in Alabama). HE is REALLY on a roll....
The Ron Paul express is on the roll /s..
Do you know what a “straw poll” is?
Let's assume you're right. What does it show? It shows that though the losers (Huckabee, Romney, etc.) chose to compete, they couldn't attact a measly 200 votes to counter the campaign of those devious Paulite, Rove-type "operative" sent there, presumbly in Robot fashion. Is that what you are really saying? It sounds to me that the other candidates are sore loses e.g, they chose to compete, then lost, and now make excuses
I think I’ll have a straw poll at my family BBQ over Labor Day.
Paul doesn’t believe that this country is at war. If he did, he would have voted for the Patriot Act instead of repeatedly voting against it. He doesn’t believe in giving our law enforcement and intelligence authorities the tools they need to prevent another 9/11. Ron Paul is a dangerous fool.
“So, where were these fine Republicans you speak of?”
The 20 or so people who show up at our meetings were at the picnic, cooking burgers, cleaning up the trash and manning the fund raising booths. Every four years, we get a chance to raise some real money by selling tickets to the presidential candidates. Now we’ll have some money to support our City Council and School Board candidates locally.
Ron Paul is picking up steam, headed for an upset win. Go Ron!
I'd say between this incoherent babble and your tagline you have yourself pretty well figured out. Blackbird.
“It shows that though the losers (Huckabee, Romney, etc.) chose to compete,”
Bzzzzttttttt! Wrong. They didn’t compete.
Be careful - 200 Ron Paul supporters may decide to join your family for Labor day...
So, IOW's too lazy or too unmotivated to vote. Gotcha! Blackbird.
Sure, a straw poll, at least in this case, is a poll which the major campaigns (Romney, Thompson, and Huckabee) chose to contest then lost to a “one percenter.” What sore losers. First they compete, then they whine and make excuses when they fail.
The 2 straw polls were organized by who?
Paul supporters?
LOL (and I mean I really did laugh out loud)!
If this straw poll was so meaningless and silly, why did the Romney, Thompson, and Huckabee campaigns choose to compete in it? What does it say about them and their lack of foresight and planning when they lose to a one percenter like Paul. They chose to take him on, now they whine like five year olds.
