and the truth is that Iran has had a bellyfull of the Mullahs and if we can stabilize Iraq and Afghanistan the Iranian people are likely to come aboard.

The Iranian police state has completely metastasized, while the government does not enjoy popular support, it really doesn't need it.

This would divide the entire ME ideolgically.

The ME is already quite ideologically divided. That's why they keep blowing each other up in Iraq every day.

That is why it is “the long war”

We are there, and committed what is the alternative to seeing Iraq through?

Pull out and let the Sunni and Shia slaughter each other and the Persians and Arabs slaughter each other and the Kurds and the Turks slaughter each other.

And let the Saudis and Iranians bog the entire ME down with the typical proxy war that is the national pastime of these nations.

If anything emerges out of the ashes that looks vaguely threating to our nation, nuke it glowing. Jacket with cobalt if need be.

By now, it is painfully obvious to most people in the freedom movement that Republican presidential hopeful, Ron Paul, has been targeted for elimination—by his own Party.

He seems to be targeted for elimination by the liberals in his party.

And give al queda a new base in the rich lands of the fertile crescent. Mesopotamia.

Ya think they had haven in Afghanistan?
Iraq is like a palace in comparison. Oil revenue, arable lands, water.

Eff that

It is highly unlikely that the tiny minority of sunni foreign fighters within the iraq's sunni minority will take over the country.

In fact, they will have to work very hard to stay alive during the Iraqi civil war.

As I said, if anything threating emerges from the ashes, well that's why Uncle Ed Teller blessed us such wonderful toys.

I don't support Paul's concept that we shouldn't be in Iraq.
In fact, I doubt we will be able to leave in the foreseeable future. We need to fight the terrorists on their home ground. Iraq's it.

I thought their home ground was Saudi, Egypt, Pakistan, etc.

Muslim terrorism's home ground is the middle east. - Iraq is in the middle of the middle east. It is 'good ground' for the fight. - Our ground.

When will be building a democracy (which will elect islamists) in those nations?

"Building democracy" is a political slogan; -- get over it.

It is not a civil war.
It is a war against the foreigners at this point.
And those foreigners are the al queda.
The Iraqis see that we are assisting them and are falling in line recognizing that it is their very future they must fight for.

Hmmm sounds like a constitutionalist thang to me.
A federalist constitution.

Gotta go see yall later. good debate I for one am not ready to give up

Gotta love your high minded debate style.

In my book, someone who thinks the U.S.'s actions caused 9-11 is a turd and a nutbag, and anyone who follows that turd is loony. Maybe you give all that root causes talk some credence; I don't. And I don't care to know his position on anything else if he holds such repugnant views on what I consider the most important topic for a President.

Amen, that's what I like to hear. Teller also pushed SDI - and we should be much more strongly pushing its progeny to couple with the use of said toys (if our hand is forced).

If that’s so, WHY ARE WE YET THERE? We won, we need to come home and get out of Iraq.

Whatever.

Paul, nor anyone that can read his actual positions "thinks the U.S.'s actions caused 9-11".

Now run along.

Thanks for the PING and post.

It's very discouraging to see that the most pro-Constitutional candidate, Ron Paul, get smeared the most on the most pro-Constitutional Internet forum.

Paul's objective isn't winning the Presidency. Even he knows he has the proverbial snowball chance in Hell of winning.

He is in the race to talk about the real issues that are being ignored by all of the other candidates with the lone exception of Duncan Hunter, and even he doesn't talk about limiting the size of the federal government and spending as Paul does, with a record to back it up.

He is also forcing the other Pubbies to at least acknowledge the Constitution.

It's even more discouraging to see supposedly pro-Constitutional FReepers disregard the mans totally Constitutional stance, just because he's confused about our position in Iraq.

He’s not confused- he’s deluded into thinking that America will be better off if we ignore the Islamo-fascists who want us DEAD!

I usually see teenage girls using the word "whatever."

As for you asserting Paul doesn't think "U.S. actions caused 9-11" as I asserted, here's his actual words from the other night (2:25 into the video):

Have you ever read about the reasons they attacked us? They attacked us because we've been over there.

Now, why don't you explain that.
