FWIW...I consider myself to be a supporter of the Constitution Party camp fer this election due to my frustration with Dubyuh's big-spending ways; however, this stand on abortion is ridiculous!! Sure, I am pro-Life and would love nothing more than for abortions to end in five months, but to think we can accomplish this via Presidential Decree is silly. By proposing such a extra-Constitutional route to accomplishing our goals smacks of pandering and diminishes the seriousness of Peroutka's candidacy.

I could see voting for someone like Howard Phillips, who is a doctrinaire conservative, someone who became disenchanted with the GOP and decided to stick to his convictions by splitting from the Republican Party.

I may have not made my case clear. I am supporting Bush and believe that the CP's candidate is unrealistic. I mentioned Ashcroft because I do think he is great, though not perfect. A perfect candidate would not have gotten through the Democratic-Controlled Senate (or Republican-controlled for that matter!)

I was merely referring to the views of the person who posted this thread.

Personally, I believe that Ashcroft is the best-and probably, one of the only competent-members of Bush's cabinet, from a strictly domestic policy standpoint.

With the possible exceptions of Tommy Thompson, Sec'y Chao and Rod Paige, John Ashcroft is the only one who I would think could be a shoe-in for reappointment, should President Bush be reelected.

To be honest, there are probably positions with which I take issue with Aschcroft, but I can't think of them at the present moment.

We'll see, I reckon...I usedta vote Libertarian Party at the local level, until Harry Browne just went whacko on the issue of defending America against Islamofascists!! I understand this desire of small guv'ment parties to adopt Isolationism as our national credo, but we can no longer sit back and wait fer our enemies to pick us off by the thousands!!

Believe me, I've got major reservations about Peroutka's stance on the War on Terrorism, too, but until Dubyuh acknowledges the need to decrease the Size and Scope of the Federal Leviathan, and lays out a plan fer achieving this most-worthy goal, I'm still counting myself amongst the ConstitutionParty stalwarts.

"Abortion Free America" without the hyphen is a totally different concept than with.
