In Mormonism, Christ was not “always” god, but he had the “divine potential,” just as you believe you do. Why must you distort the beliefs of the LDS, is it to fool investigators by making them more palatable? Milk Before Meat? Come on Eddy, people can READ, they’ve seem Mormonism exposed.

“Here, then, is eternal life — to know the only wise and true God; and you have got to learn how to be Gods yourselves, and to be kings and priests to God, the same as all Gods have done before you,... To inherit the same power, the same glory and the same exaltation, until you arrive at the station of a God.... “ (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pp. 346, 347)

Milton R. Hunter, a member of Mormonism’s First Council of the Seventy, wrote in The Gospel Through the Ages, p 104:

“Mormon prophets have continuously taught the sublime truth that God the Eternal Father was once a mortal man who passed through a school of earth life similar to that through which we are now passing. He became God - an exalted being - through obedience to the same eternal Gospel truths that we are given opportunity today to obey.”

or this:

As shown in this chapter, our Father in heaven was once a man as we are now, capable of physical death. By obedience to eternal gospel principles, he progressed from one stage of life to another until he attained the state that we call exaltation or godhood. In such a condition, he and our mother in heaven were empowered to give birth to spirit children whose potential was equal to that of their heavenly parents. We are those spirit children. (Achieving a Celestial Marriage p 132)

“You are aware that Mormons revere Jesus Christ as the only Son of God, begotten in flesh, sent as the savior of the world, aren’t you?”

The “Jesus Christ” of Mormonism is not the Jesus Christ of historic Christianity.

If you are not aware of the differences we can discuss the topic, but it might be best to move it to the religion forum.

“Heck yeah, Mormons are going to hell and we should run them out of town with pitchforks and torches.”

Apparently you have uncritically accepted the media’s line. I would expect more from someone who includes “freep” in they name.

Not to mention that he was reduced to taking wives from other people.

It is truly amazing, how worked up people like you get worked up over a simple truth. What part of "living" gives you such heartburn? DNA, arms, legs, face, thinking with a brain, feeling with a heart, seeing with eyes, eating, walking?

What is truly amazing is how "people like you" manage to read into the word "living" everything in the second paragraph. That's just poor reasoning.

What is even more amazing is how "people like you" are so willing to believe pagan philosophies and read out of the word "living" everything that connotes "living." By the way, I forgot to add the term "breathing" as in the "breath of life."

“It teaches EVERY SINGLE THING the Bible does about Christ, worships, honors, and strives to obey him. Christ is the center of every Mormon’s life.”

No sir, it does not. YOU are repeating a common lie. Mormonism may borrow the terminology of historic Christianity but it so radically redefines those terms that there is no connection left to the original truth.

Mormonism is not a branch of Christianity. Mormonism is as different from Christianity as Islam.

I would be glad to discuss this in detail with you if you wish, but we would need to move it to the religion forum.

No, you’re simply not getting it. In Mormonism, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost have ALWAYS BEEN GOD.

Here’s some quotations from the Latter-day Scriptures:

Mosiah 3:5-8 For behold, the time cometh, and is not far distant, that with power, the Lord Omnipotent who reigneth, who was, and is from all eternity to all eternity, shall come down from heaven among the children of men, and shall dwell in a tabernacle of clay, and shall go forth amongst men, working mighty miracles, such as healing the sick, raising the dead, causing the lame to walk, the blind to receive their sight, and the deaf to hear, and curing all manner of diseases. And he shall cast out devils, or the evil spirits which dwell in the hearts of the children of men. And lo, he shall suffer temptations, and pain of body, hunger, thirst, and fatigue, even more than man can suffer, except it be unto death; for behold, blood cometh from every pore, so great shall be his anguish for the wickedness and abominations of his people. And he shall be called Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of heaven and earth, the creator of all things from the beginning; and his mother shall be called Mary.

Alma 42:15 And now the plan of mercy could not be brought about except an atonement should be made; therefore God himself atoneth for the sins of the world, to bring about the plan of mercy, to appease the demands of justice, that God might be a perfect, just God, and a merciful God also.

3 Nephi 9:15 Behold, I am Jesus Christ the Son of God. I created the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are. I was with the Father from the beginning. I am in the Father, and the Father in me; and in me hath the Father glorified his name.

3 Nephi 11:14 Arise and come forth unto me, that ye may thrust your hands into my side, and also that ye may feel the prints of the nails in my hands and in my feet, that ye may know that I am the God of Israel, and the God of the whole earth, and have been slain for the sins of the world.

D&C 35:1-2,8 Listen to the voice of the Lord your God, even Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, whose course is one eternal round, the same today as yesterday, and forever. I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was crucified for the sins of the world, even as many as will believe on my name, that they may become the sons of God, even one in me as I am one in the Father, as the Father is one in me, that we may be one ... For I am God, and mine arm is not shortened; and I will show miracles, signs, and wonders, unto all those who believe on my name.

D&C 38:1,3 Thus saith the Lord your God, even Jesus Christ, the Great I AM, Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the same which looked upon the wide expanse of eternity, and all the seraphic hosts of heaven, before the world was made ... The same which knoweth all things, for all things are present before mine eyes; I am the same which spake, and the world was made, and all things came by me.

D&C 45:1-3 Hearken, O ye people of my church, to whom the kingdom has been given; hearken ye and give ear to him who laid the foundation of the earth, who made the heavens and all the hosts thereof, and by whom all things were made which live, and move, and have a being. And again I say, hearken unto my voice, lest death shall overtake you; in an hour when ye think not the summer shall be past, and the harvest ended, and your souls not saved. Listen to him who is the advocate with the Father, who is pleading your cause before him

It’s pretty obvious LDS Scriptures are incredibly clear that Christ is God in a manner much more clear than anywhere in the Bible.

Christ was God who LATER ON experienced mortality.

IOW, God first, man second.

As for Heavenly Father, John said Christ REPLICATED whatever he saw the Father do. Well, what exactly did Christ do then? He was God who experienced mortality as a sinless substitute for sinners who shared the same species. Same then with Heavenly Father. He was God who experienced mortality in an ancestral universe (since this is his universe and he created it) while being a sinless substitute for sinners of his species when performing an infinite atonement.

Sure, I concede that some LDS leaders and writers have confused the SEQUENCE of Heavenly Father’s progression, but since they had no way of knowing for sure, the cosmology was foreign to the Bible, and were only expressing their opinion instead of giving revealed revelation; it doesn’t make a bit of difference to me.

My stance is based on John, the Scriptures as a whole, a conflation of two dirrent cosmologies, and logic. If Christ was first God then Man, it doesn’t make sense for the Father to first be Man then God. If Christ’s deity enabled him to be a sinless substitute when performing an infinite atonement; the same has to be for the Father. If he was only moral, he couldn’t be a sinless substitute who performed an infinite atonement. He had to be God.

Scriptural? Nope. Just speculation but with good reason and I’ve never encountered anyone in the past 20 years who could show a flaw in the reasoning. If Christ being both God and Man doesn’t diminish him in any way; neither then will it diminish Heavenly Father.

Anti-Mormons are being disingeuous since Mormonism’s cosmology is multiversal whereas Traditional Theism’s is universal (and if one were honest the Bible’s cosmology was planetary). What applies within a universal milieu does not necessary mean it applies to the multiverse anymore than one grain of sand on the seashore made out of gold doesn’t mean the entire beach is made of gold.

Never counted but it was more than one and less than what David and Solomon had.

What’s your point? And please don’t start with a complaint against polygyny since the Bible states in six locations that God approves of the practice and even gave David his wives. If you have a problem with it, take it up with him.

What makes you think I’m “slamming Mormonism” just because it isn’t Christian? Jews aren’t Christians and I’m not “slamming” them. Get some thicker skin, dude!

Your audacity is unbelievable.

Who gave you the authority to decide which beliefs qualify as Christian and non-Christian. Constantine? A pope? A preacher? Certainly not the Constitution.

Moreover, if what you claim isn't "slamming Mormonism" what is? Christ is the center of our belief. He is the Savior of the World. He is the Lord of the earth and heavens. We believe in Christ, we teach of Christ and that He is the living Son of the living God. To claim all of that amounts to being non-Christian is palpably and highly offensive, not to mention ridiculous.

Finally, how thick should my skin be? Thick enough to withstand the mob bullets of Carthage, IL? Thick enough to parry the bullets of the mobs of Missouri and the official extermination order (to kill all Mormons) of Governor Boggs? Thick enough to blunt the sensational diatribes of the national press? How about thick enough to survive innumerable libelous and slanderous attacks throughout the country and around the world by self-important paid preachers?

You Mormon haters are all the same, and quite predictable. You blare your bull horns to disrupt every single large Mormon gathering. You do everything in your power to denigrate and condemn. You are so predictable, your inspiration may even come from the same spirit that possessed the Jews who crucified the Savior for claiming he was the Son of the living God.

Baloney. I can prove it. According to Mormonism, Jesus Christ is:

The Savior.
The Redeemer.
The Messiah.
The Lamb of God.
The Son of God.
God.
The I AM.
The Son of Man.
Born of a virgin.
The First/Last.
The Creator.
The Paraclete/ Advocate/ Comforter.
The Mediator/ Intercessor/ Reconciler.
He died for our sins.
He died on the cross.
He rose from the dead.
The Judge.
The Foundation.
The Rock.
The only Begotten Son of God.
Worshiped.
The name used to pray to the Father.
Obeyed.
We take upon ourselves his name.
The only source of Salvation and the greatest name possible

As for specific passages proving the Latter-day Scriptures teach these things just like the Bible does, see:

http://www.fortunecity.com/meltingpot/bicycleroad/21/id108.htm

Or, perhaps you prefer I just cut and paste it into this post, like so???

JESUS CHRIST IS:

THE SAVIOR
Bible Latter-day Scriptures
Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. / Acts 4:10-12 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. / 1 Jn 4:14-15 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. 1 Ne 13:40 And the angel spake unto me, saying: These last records, which thou hast seen among the Gentiles, shall establish the truth of the first, which are of the twelve apostles of the Lamb, and shall make known the plain and precious things which have been taken away from them; and shall make known to all kindreds, tongues, and people, that the Lamb of God is the Son of the Eternal Father, and the Savior of the world; and that all men must come unto him, or they cannot be saved. / 2 Ne 31:13 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, I know that if ye shall follow the Son, with full purpose of heart, acting no hypocrisy and no deception before God, but with real intent, repenting of your sins, witnessing unto the Father that ye are willing to take upon you the name of Christ, by baptism—yea, by following your Lord and your Savior down into the water, according to his word, behold, then shall ye receive the Holy Ghost; yea, then cometh the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost; and then can ye speak with the tongue of angels, and shout praises unto the Holy One of Israel. / D&C 43:34\pard fs19 Hearken ye to these words. Behold, I am Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. Treasure these things up in your hearts, and let the solemnities of eternity rest upon your minds. / Mos 1:6 And I have a work for thee, Moses, my son; and thou art in the similitude of mine Only Begotten; and mine Only Begotten is and shall be the Savior, for he is full of grace and truth; but there is no God beside me, and all things are present with me, for I know them all.

THE REDEEMER

Bible Latter-day Scriptures
Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree. / Col 1:13-14 Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins. / Eph 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. / Tit 2:13-14 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Alma 9:26-27 And not many days hence the Son of God shall come in his glory; and his glory shall be the glory of the Only Begotten of the Father, full of grace, equity, and truth, full of patience, mercy, and long-suffering, quick to hear the cries of his people and to answer their prayers. And behold, he cometh to redeem those who will be baptized unto repentance, through faith on his name. / Hela 5:9 O remember, remember, my sons, the words which king Benjamin spake unto his people; yea, remember that there is no other way nor means whereby man can be saved, only through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ, who shall come; yea, remember that he cometh to redeem the world. / Hela 14:16-17 Yea, behold, this death bringeth to pass the resurrection, and redeemeth all mankind from the first death—that spiritual death; for all mankind, by the fall of Adam being cut off from the presence of the Lord, are considered as dead, both as to things temporal and to things spiritual. But behold, the resurrection of Christ redeemeth mankind, yea, even all mankind, and bringeth them back into the presence of the Lord. / 3 Ne 9:17 And as many as have received me, to them have I given to become the sons of God; and even so will I to as many as shall believe on my name, for behold, by me redemption cometh, and in me is the law of Moses fulfilled. / D&C 49:5 Thus saith the Lord; for I am God, and have sent mine Only Begotten Son into the world for the redemption of the world, and have decreed that he that receiveth him shall be saved, and he that receiveth him not shall be damned.

THE MESSIAH
Bible Latter-day Scriptures
Matt 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. / Mark 14:61-62 But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. / John 1:41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. 1 Ne 10:9-11 And my father said he should baptize in Bethabara, beyond Jordan; and he also said he should baptize with water; even that he should baptize the Messiah with water. And after he had baptized the Messiah with water, he should behold and bear record that he had baptized the Lamb of God, who should take away the sins of the world ... And after they had slain the Messiah, who should come, and after he had been slain he should rise from the dead, and should make himself manifest, by the Holy Ghost, unto the Gentiles. / 2 Ne 25:18-19 Wherefore, he shall bring forth his words unto them, which words shall judge them at the last day, for they shall be given them for the purpose of convincing them of the true Messiah, who was rejected by them; and unto the convincing of them that they need not look forward any more for a Messiah to come, for there should not any come, save it should be a false Messiah which should deceive the people; for there is save one Messiah spoken of by the prophets, and that Messiah is he who should be rejected of the Jews. For according to the words of the prophets, the Messiah cometh in six hundred years from the time that my father left Jerusalem; and according to the words of the prophets, and also the word of the angel of God, his name shall be Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

THE LAMB OF GOD
Bible Latter-day Scriptures
John 1:29,36 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world ... And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! / 1 Pet 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. / Rev 7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. / Rev 19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed [are] they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. / Rev 22:1,3 AND he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lambin ... And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him. 1 Ne 10:10 And after he had baptized the Messiah with water, he should behold and bear record that he had baptized the Lamb of God, who should take away the sins of the world. / 1 Ne 11:27 And I looked and beheld the Redeemer of the world, of whom my father had spoken; and I also beheld the prophet who should prepare the way before him. And the Lamb of God went forth and was baptized of him; and after he was baptized, I beheld the heavens open, and the Holy Ghost come down out of heaven and abide upon him in the form of a dove. / 2 Ne 31:5 And now, if the Lamb of God, he being holy, should have need to be baptized by water, to fulfil all righteousness, O then, how much more need have we, being unholy, to be baptized, yea, even by water! / Alma 7:14 Now I say unto you that ye must repent, and be born again; for the Spirit saith if ye are not born again ye cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven; therefore come and be baptized unto repentance, that ye may be washed from your sins, that ye may have faith on the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world, who is mighty to save and to cleanse from all unrighteousness. / D&C 88:106 And again, another angel shall sound his trump, which is the seventh angel, saying: It is finished; it is finished! The Lamb of God hath overcome and trodden the wine-press alone, even the wine-press of the fierceness of the wrath of Almighty God.

THE SON OF GOD
Bible Latter-day Scriptures
Mark 1:1 THE beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. / Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. / John 1:34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God. / John 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? / John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. / Acts 9:20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God. / Heb 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast [our] profession. 2 Ne 25:19 For according to the words of the prophets, the Messiah cometh in six hundred years from the time that my father left Jerusalem; and according to the words of the prophets, and also the word of the angel of God, his name shall be Jesus Christ, the Son of God. / Mosi 3:8 And he shall be called Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of heaven and earth, the Creator of all things from the beginning; and his mother shall be called Mary. / Mosi 4:2 And they had viewed themselves in their own carnal state, even less than the dust of the earth. And they all cried aloud with one voice, saying: O have mercy, and apply the atoning blood of Christ that we may receive forgiveness of our sins, and our hearts may be purified; for we believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who created heaven and earth, and all things; who shall come down among the children of men. / Alma 7:10 And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers, she being a virgin, a precious and chosen vessel, who shall be overshadowed and conceive by the power of the Holy Ghost, and \pard fs19 bring forth a son, yea, even the Son of God. / 3 Ne 9:15 Behold, I am Jesus Christ the Son of God. I created the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are. I was with the Father from the beginning. I am in the Father, and the Father in me; and in me hath the Father glorified his name. / 3 Ne 20:31 And they shall believe in me, that I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and shall pray unto the Father in my name. / D&C 11:28 Behold, I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I am the life and the light of the world.

GOD
Bible Latter-day Scriptures
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. / Phil 2:5-7 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. / Heb 1:2-3 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. / Heb 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, thy throne o God is forever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. 2 Ne 26:12 And as I spake concerning the convincing of the Jews, that Jesus is the very Christ, it must needs be that the Gentiles be convinced also that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God./ Mosi 3:5-8 For behold, the time cometh, and is not far distant, that with power, the Lord Omnipotent who reigneth, who was, and is from all eternity to all eternity, shall come down from heaven among the children of men, and shall dwell in a tabernacle of clay, and shall go forth amongst men, working mighty miracles, such as healing the sick, raising the dead, causing the lame to walk, the blind to receive their sight, and the deaf to hear, and curing all manner of diseases. Amen.

I’ve posted the words of LDS Prophets, Apostles and official site. Sure Edward, I’ll believe you over the originating Prophet Joseph Smith, an Apostle, and the official Chuch Website.... sure!

And Mormons wonder why article such as the following are posted:

” Mormonism is one of the most misunderstood religions in America, but this in not solely attributable to our own parochial views; the LDS Church does much to obscure many of its true beliefs. It is necessary to understand the structure of the LDS Church and its culture in order to identify the implications of a Mormon president for it is nearly impossible to separate the presidential candidate form the LDS Church.”

Hmmm, let’s see. You post from “LDS Prophets, Apostles and official site” but nothing you posted validates your claim. Oh, FYI, posting a Seventy’s opinion does not a revelation make.

I, OTOH, quote Scriptures, which all LDS accept as authoritative (that you consistently ignore since they can’t be refuted).

Who between us is misrepresenting Mormon doctrines?

Eh?

So it is your belief that polygamy is OK. I see. The Mormon Church excommunicates people who practice it and it pretty severely condemns it. You might want to keep that under wraps.

Funny I remember that Solomon and David didn’t have a very good experience in that whole polygamy deal, especially when David stole another man’s wife.

Mitt is related to a woman who was featured in a book about polygamy. It’s really a good read even though it is pretty pro-Mormon.

Oh Edward

Mormons are not Trinitarians and readily admit to that. Check some of the previous threads. They do not believe that Jesus is God Incarnate as do Protestants.

Unfortunately for you, you’re wrong. Again. Get your facts straight before criticizing my religion.

FYI, Mormonism believes in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. We believe they are ONE GOD.

What we do NOT believe in the fourth century formulation called the Trinity, with its three hypostatis in one ousia nonmaterial formless deity. We utterly reject this unbiblical Hellenic concept, so foreign to the Hebrew worldview.

We stick to the Bible. Shame on you for not doing likewise.

THE THREENESS OF THE GODHEAD

Mosiah 15:5 And thus the flesh becoming subject to the Spirit (1), or the Son (2) to the Father (3), being one God, suffereth temptation, and yieldeth not to the temptation, but suffereth himself to be mocked, and scourged, and cast out, and disowned by his people.

Alma 11:44 Now, this restoration shall come to all, both old and young, both bond and free, both male and female, both the wicked and the righteous; and even there shall not so much as a hair of their heads be lost; but every thing shall be restored to its perfect frame, as it is now, or in the body, and shall be brought and be arraigned before the bar of Christ the Son (1), and God the Father (2), and the Holy Spirit (3), which is one Eternal God, to be judged according to their works, whether they be good or whether they be evil.

3 Nephi 11:25,32,35-36 Having authority given me of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father (1), and of the Son (2), and of the Holy Ghost (3). Amen ... And this is my doctrine, and it is the doctrine which the Father hath given unto me; and I [Jesus] (1) bear record of the Father (2), and the Father beareth record of me, and the Holy Ghost (3) beareth record of the Father and me; and I bear record that the Father commandeth all men, everywhere, to repent and believe in me ... Verily, verily, I [Jesus] (1) say unto you, that this is my doctrine, and I bear record of it from the Father (2) ; and whoso believeth in me believeth in the Father also; and unto him will the Father bear record of me, for he will visit him with fire and with the Holy Ghost (3). And thus will the Father (1) bear record of me (2), and the Holy Ghost (3) will bear record unto him of the Father and me; for the Father (1), and I (2), and the Holy Ghost (3) are one.

3 Nephi 28:11 And the Holy Ghost (1) beareth record of the Father (2) and me [Jesus](3); and the Father (1) giveth the Holy Ghost (2) unto the children of men, because of me (3).

Mormon 7:7,9-10 And he hath brought to pass the redemption of the world, whereby he that is found guiltless before him at the judgment day hath it given unto him to dwell in the presence of God in his kingdom, to sing ceaseless praises with the choirs above, unto the Father (1), and unto the Son (2), and unto the Holy Ghost (3), which are one God, in a state of happiness which hath no end ... For behold, this is written for the intent that ye may believe that; and if ye believe that ye will believe this also; and if ye believe this ye will know concerning your fathers, and also the marvelous works which were wrought by the power of God (1) among them. And ye will also know that ye are a remnant of the seed of Jacob; therefore ye are numbered among the people of the first covenant; and if it so be that ye believe in Christ (2), and are baptized, first with water, then with fire and with the Holy Ghost (3), following the example of our Savior, according to that which he hath commanded us, it shall be well with you in the day of judgment. Amen.

Ether 5:4 And in the mouth of three witnesses shall these things be established; and the testimony of three, and this work, in the which shall be shown forth the power of God and also his word, of which the Father (1), and the Son (2), and the Holy Ghost (3) bear record—and all this shall stand as a testimony against the world at the last day.

Ether 12:41 And now, I would commend you to seek this Jesus of whom the prophets and apostles have written, that the grace of God the Father (1), and also the Lord Jesus Christ (2), and the Holy Ghost (3), which beareth record of them, may be and abide in you forever. Amen.

D&C 14:7-9 And, if you keep my commandments and endure to the end you shall have eternal life, which gift is the greatest of all the gifts of God. And it shall come to pass, that if you shall ask the Father (1) in my name, in faith believing, you shall receive the Holy Ghost (2), which giveth utterance, that you may stand as a witness of the things of which you shall both hear and see, and also that you may declare repentance unto this generation. Behold, I am Jesus Christ (3), the Son of the living God, who created the heavens and the earth, a light which cannot be hid in darkness.

D&C 18:32-33 And, behold, you are they who are ordained of me to ordain priests and teachers; to declare my gospel, according to the power of the Holy Ghost (1) which is in you, and according to the callings and gifts of God (2) unto men; And I, Jesus Christ (3), your Lord and your God, have spoken it.

CHRIST IS ONE WITH THE FATHER

(1) 3 Ne 11:27 And after this manner shall ye baptize in my name; for behold, verily I say unto you, that the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost are one; and I am in the Father, and the Father in me, and the Father and I are one.

(2) D&C 35:2 I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was crucified for the sins of the world, even as many as will believe on my name, that they may become the sons of God, even one in me as I am one in the Father, as the Father is one in me, that we may be one.

(3) D&C 50:43-44 And the Father and I are one. I am in the Father and the Father in me; and inasmuch as ye have received me, ye are in me and I in you. Wherefore, I am in your midst, and I am the good shepherd, and the stone of Israel. He that buildeth upon this rock shall never fall.

(4) D&C 93:3-5 And that I am in the Father, and the Father in me, and the Father and I are one— The Father because he gave me of his fulness, and the Son because I was in the world and made flesh my tabernacle, and dwelt among the sons of men. I was in the world and received of my Father, and the works of him were plainly manifest.

INTERPENETRATION OF THE GODHEAD

(1) 3 Ne 9:15 Behold, I am Jesus Christ the Son of God. I created the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are. I was with the Father from the beginning. I am in the Father, and the Father in me; and in me hath the Father glorified his name.

(2) 3 Ne 11:27 And after this manner shall ye baptize in my name; for behold, verily I say unto you, that the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost are one; and I am in the Father, and the Father in me, and the Father and I are one.

(3) D&C 35:2 I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was crucified for the sins of the world, even as many as will believe on my name, that they may become the sons of God, even one in me as I am one in the Father, as the Father is one in me, that we may be one.

D&C 50:43-44 And the Father and I are one. I am in the Father and the Father in me; and inasmuch as ye have received me, ye are in me and I in you. Wherefore, I am in your midst, and I am the good shepherd, and the stone of Israel. He that buildeth upon this rock shall never fall.

D&C 93:3-5 And that I am in the Father, and the Father in me, and the Father and I are one— The Father because he gave me of his fulness, and the Son because I was in the world and made flesh my tabernacle, and dwelt among the sons of men. I was in the world and received of my Father, and the works of him were plainly manifest.

D&C 93:16-20 And I, John, bear record that he received a fulness of the glory of the Father; And he received all power, both in heaven and on earth, and the glory of the Father was with him, for he dwelt in him. And it shall come to pass, that if you are faithful you shall receive the fulness of the record of John. I give unto you these sayings that you may understand and know how to worship, and know what you worship, that you may come unto the Father in my name, and in due time receive of his fulness. For if you keep my commandments you shall receive of his fulness, and be glorified in me as I am in the Father; therefore, I say unto you, you shall receive grace for grace.

CHRIST IS GOD INCARNATE

(1) BM. Title Page ... And also to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God.

(2) 2 Ne 9:20-21 O how great the holiness of our God! For he knoweth all things, and there is not anything save he knows it. And he cometh into the world that he may save all men if they will hearken unto his voice; for behold, he suffereth the pains of all men, yea, the pains of every living creature, both men, women, and children, who belong to the family of Adam.

(3) 2 Ne 11:7 For if there be no Christ there be no God: and if there be no God we are not, for there could have been no creation. But there is a God, and he is Christ, and he cometh in the fullness of his own time.

(4) 2 Ne 26:12 And as I spake concerning the convincing of the Jews, that Jesus is the very Christ, it must needs be that the Gentiles be convinced also that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God.

(5) Mosi 3:5-8 For behold, the time cometh, and is not far distant, that with power, the Lord Omnipotent who reigneth, who was, and is from all eternity to all eternity, shall come down from heaven among the children of men, and shall dwell in a tabernacle of clay, and shall go forth amongst men, working mighty miracles, such as healing the sick, raising the dead, causing the lame to walk, the blind to receive their sight, and the deaf to hear, and curing all manner of diseases.

(6) Mosi 5:15 Therefore, I would that ye should be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works, that Christ, the Lord Omnipotent, may seal you his, that you may be brought to heaven, that ye may have everlasting salvation and eternal life, through the wisdom, and power, and justice, and mercy of him who created all things, in heaven and in earth, who is God above all. Amen.

(7) Mosi 7:27 And because he said unto them that Christ was the God, the Father of all things, and said that he should take upon him the image of man, and it should be the image after which man was created in the beginning; or in other words, he said that man was created after the image of God, and that God should come down among the children of men, and take upon him flesh and blood, and go forth upon the face of the earth.

(8) Mosi 26:23,26 For it is I that taketh upon me the sins of the world; for it is I that hath created them; and it is I that granteth unto him that believeth unto the end a place at my right hand ... And then shall they know that I am the Lord their God, that I am their Redeemer; but they would not be redeemed.
(9) Mosi 27:30-31 I rejected my Redeemer, and denied that which had been spoken of by our fathers; but now that they may foresee that he will come, and that he remembereth every creature of his creating, he will make himself manifest unto all. Yea, every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess before him. Yea, even at the last day, when all men shall stand to be judged of him, then shall they confess that he is God; then shall they confess, who live without God in the world, that the judgment of an everlasting punishment is just upon them; and they shall quake, and tremble, and shrink beneath the glance of his all-searching eye.

(10) Alma 42:15 And now the plan of mercy could not be brought about except an atonement should be made; therefore God himself atoneth for the sins of the world, to bring about the plan of mercy, to appease the demands of justice, that God might be a perfect, just God, and a merciful God also.

(11) Hela 8:22-23 Our father Lehi was driven out of Jerusalem because he testified of these things, and also almost all of our fathers, even down to this time; yea, they have testified of the coming of Christ, and have looked forward, and have rejoiced in his day which is to come. And behold, he is God, and he is with them, and he did manifest himself unto them, that they were redeemed by him; and they gave unto him glory, because of that which is to come.

(12) 3 Ne 9:15 Behold, I am Jesus Christ the Son of God. I created the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are. I was with the Father from the beginning. I am in the Father, and the Father in me; and in me hath the Father glorified his name.

(13) 3 Ne 11:14 Arise and come forth unto me, that ye may thrust your hands into my side, and also that ye may feel the prints of the nails in my hands and in my feet, that ye may know that I am the God of Israel, and the God of the whole earth, and have been slain for the sins of the world.

(14) 3 Ne 19:18 And behold, they began to pray; and they did pray unto Jesus, calling him their Lord and their God.

(15) Morm 3:21 And also that ye may believe the gospel of Jesus Christ, which ye shall have among you; and also that the Jews, the covenant people of the Lord, shall have other witness besides him whom they saw and heard, that Jesus, whom they slew, was the very Christ and the very God.

(16)Eth 2:12 Behold, this is a choice land, and whatsoever nation shall possess it shall be free from bondage, and from captivity, and from all other nations under heaven, if they will but serve the God of the land, who is Jesus Christ, who hath been manifested by the things which we have written.

(17) D&C 18:33 And I, Jesus Christ, your Lord and your God, have spoken it.

(18) D&C 19:1,4,15-20 I am Alpha and Omega, Christ the Lord; yea, even I am he, the beginning and the end, the Redeemer of the world ... And surely every man must repent or suffer, for I, God, am endless ... Therefore I command you to repent - repent, lest I smite you by the rod of my mouth, and by my wrath, and by my anger, and your suffering be sore - how sore you know not, how exquisite you know not, yea, how hard to bear you know not. For behold, I, God have suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent; But if they would not repent they must suffer even as I; Which sufferings caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit - and would that I might not drink the bitter cup and shrink - Nevertheless, glory be to the Father, and I partook and finished my preparations unto the children of men. Wherefore, I command you again to repent, lest I humble you with my almighty power; and that you confess your sins, lest you suffer these punishments of which I have spoken, of which in the smallest, yea, even in the least degree you have tasted at the time I withdrew my spirit.

(19) D&C 34:1 My son Orson, hearken and hear and behold what I, the Lord God, shall say unto you, even Jesus Christ your Redeemer.

(20) D&C 35:1-2,8 Listen to the voice of the Lord your God, even Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, whose course is one eternal round, the same today as yesterday, and forever.

(21) D&C 38:1,3 Thus saith the Lord your God, even Jesus Christ, the Great I AM, Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the same which looked upon the wide expanse of eternity, and all the seraphic hosts of heaven, before the world was made ... The same which knoweth all things, for all things are present before mine eyes; I am the same which spake, and the world was made, and all things came by me.

(22) D&C 45:1-3 Hearken, O ye people of my church, to whom the kingdom has been given; hearken ye and give ear to him who laid the foundation of the earth, who made the heavens and all the hosts thereof, and by whom all things were made which live, and move, and have a being. And again I say, hearken unto my voice, lest death shall overtake you; in an hour when ye think not the summer shall be past, and the harvest ended, and your souls not saved. Listen to him who is the advocate with the Father, who is pleading your cause before him-

(23) D&C 66:13 Verily, thus saith the Lord your God, your Redeemer, even Jesus Christ. Amen.

(24) D&C 93:10 The worlds were made by him; men were made by him; all things were made by him, and through him, and of him.

Where is such a criteria in the Bible?

Now you’re changing the milieu of the Bible’s scope. The Bible must be taken within its cosmology. The ancient Hebrews never imagined a universe where the stars are distant suns containing their own planets - how much more for a multiversal cosmology with its infinite number of universes without beginning or end?

Stick to the Bible!

Geez, the dishonesty of some people ... Shameful.
