I'll try to get back to this thread to read the Texas GOP platform but I probably won't chime in on it much here.

It sounds like it contains a number of planks that don't mean much to the voters or candidates so the "hypocrisy" is empty. I do agree with Ralph that we have RINOs. I disagree with him about the role of government or who should be leading this nation.

I doubt that he'll offer up a similar "expose" for the DummyRats or other parties.

We engaged in a lengthy discussion of the Texas Party Platform earlier this year at this forum, and nobody here agreed with all of it.

And nobody ever will if we continue to write it in the manner we currently do which I favor BTW.

Does it have flaws? Yes it does as will any such document written from the bottom up, by those who actually participate in the process, as this one is. Frankly, I can think of no better method of doing it but remain open to any and all ideas.

If I were to again run fo office there would certianly be parts that I would heartily endorse and parts I wouldn't talk about much but, overall, it is a FINE piece of work IMHO
