| Ken Hamblin on the Rita Cosby Show

Did anyone else hear the ludricrous statements that Ken Hamblin made on Rita's show just now?
Among other things, he said that "Rush was given the keys to the kingdom and let us down."
Then he proceeded to puff himself up, making a total jackass out of himself as far as I'm concerned.
I videotaped the whole segment and would replay it and transcribe it, but have to run out for a while right now.

I used to respect Ken Hamblin, but no more. I have not idea what prompts him to hold such bitterness against Rush, but I have my suspicions.
I remember him talking about stopping and seeing Rush's mother all the time in Rush's home town in Missouri.
Maye he thought it would get him some brownie points with Rush, and it would further his career.
Maybe he didn't get any brownie points. Maybe he's angry that Rush never asked him to sit in for him any of the times that he was on vacation, etc.
Maybe he's finally found a way to get even.
Anyhow --- that's what I suspect.

Somehow, I have the notion that Ken is not on the short list of Rush stand-ins for the next thirty days.
Sounded like an obnoxious self-righteous egotist to me.

Are you all going to trash anybody who thinks what Rush did was bad for conservatism?

The problem with us conservatives sometimes, is that we expect our leaders (and ourselves) to be perfect. All the time.
Yes, we should all strive to be perfect but there ain't a one of us ever gonna be. Only one man ever walked this earth in perfection.
We shouldn't throw our brethren to the wolves just because they make mistakes.

gotta remember that a lot of these talk radio guys have let their 'fame' go to their heads. Even conservatives ones get the fame disease

Maybe he's just correct. Or not. How about discussing his arguments.

Posted this at the bottom of another thread but it applies here...
No matter how we paint it...spin it...this is a major hit. The ratz are dancing in the streets. Yes, there are several tacks to take...medical use...unbearable pain...etcetera. The problem is it isn't the use of the drug...it's Rush's response that will give validity to the housekeeper's claims that he threatened her... wanted her husband, an admitted or convicted drug dealer I believe, to help procure more than his allotment.
My prayers are with Rush and if anyone can fall into this cesspool and come out smelling like a rose it's him, BUT at the street level this creates LOADS of serious problems for people like me who argue the conservative cause.
My only comment (to them) at the momment is "Yup. Rush had been falling to the dark side of the left for years. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised to find he's been having illicit sex in a closet off the EIB air studio. If he has, he should become the darling of the ratz."
One of the reasons I work for the cause where I do - local watering holes and such - is because I have too much baggage to run for office. Not drugs nor booze nor things like that but mostly financial problems I've never been able to resolve. I finally decided to just put it all behind me and do what I could for folks I believe held views similar to mine. Lately that's becoming a difficult proposition, and the Rush problem isn't gonna help.

I never heard of him. It depends partly what he said and how he said it.
If he said that Rush's problems are damaging the conservative cause, I suppose that's correct, but it's not a very helpful thing to say.
Frankly I think many Freepers just don't understand the difference between going out and taking illegal drugs like cocaine or heroin deliberately and getting hooked on a painkiller because a trusted doctor prescribed it for back pain.
It would be more helpful to tell his listeners that the liberals in the media are a bunch of slimy hypocrites for playing this story the way they have. They can't beat Rush by competing with him, so they'll try to do him in any way they can.

" Are you all going to trash anybody who thinks what Rush did was bad for conservatism?" Al Gore would be managing the negotiation on terrorism if is wasnt for Rush. (600 votes in Florida.)

Sean Hannity gave a passionate defense of Limbaugh on Friday.
The one thing I keep seeing is the claim that Rush is a hypocrite because he's a big time Drug Warrior and has bashed addicts in the past. I've seen a few quotes from 1995.
But to be totally honest, I have never heard him do that, at least in recent years, other than joking references to "pot smoking hippies"... What's the real deal on the "hypocrisy" front?

Ken Hamblin is a radio host, who refers to himself as the Black Avenger. His web site is
here, and this is what he looks like:
I didn't hear his comments on Rush, but I've always enjoyed his commentary. He's fun, a little over the top, as most radio hosts are.
To: Howlin
No. But Hamblin was the one doing the trashing here.
There's an old saying: "There, but for the grace of God, go I."
Hamblin should listen to old sayings more.
