"Bit blue in the complexion?" So...wait until the girl dies?!!?! "We're well equipped..." Dear God, this nurse is insane. The system is insane.

Homeschooling is a good option, glad the parents are willing to try it.

Asked what she would have done if the boy had not been there with the inhaler, the nurse said, "We are well equiped with psycological support staff in the event something traggic would have happened."

If you could convince me beyond a reasonable doubt that a) the student in question might have died, and b) the nurse actually made any such statement, I would vote to convict on a charge of attempted murder.

"The boy can return after the Christmas holidays, but his family said they have decided he will be home-schooled."

Hooray for these parents! Good for them! They have finally realized just what vicious, worthless gulags our public screwls really are, and have decided to do the right thing. Hopefully they can undo some of the damage done to this young man by the public screwl system before he goes out into the adult world.

"I think we should start a conservative version of the ACLU. We should sue that nurse and the school and have no mercy on their souls. We should sue them for everything and anything."

NOW you're talking! Yes, let's start the ACSU (The American Common Sense Union) and sue and sue and sue these bastards until they cry uncle! Who's with me? We need some lawyers who can help to start this! I will state right here and now that I am willing to put up $1000 to help start the ACSU! Who's with me?

These are my thoughts on this incident. I shared them with the principal via email:

Dr. Poole,

I just heard of the recent incident at your school and I have to say that I am appalled.

Is common sense illegal in your community or just at your school?

One child acts to save the life of another child by sharing a medicine that they both use and you have the boy arrested and expelled from school. I have never heard of anything so idiotic in my life.

These weren't recreational drugs. There was no intent to do harm. This young man demonstrates common sense, compassion, wisdom and initiative. Rather than punishing him, you should be thanking him and holding him up as an example.

"Is it time to shoot the bastards yet?"

No, not yet. And a few closely placed warning shots may delay that time even more. Maybe the bastards will get the idea that we're watching and they won't be able to get away with what they are doing for long.

Okay, I admit it. I'm an optimist.

Not only should he not be charged, he should receive a commendation for saving the girl's life with his quick thinking and concern.

Methinks your sarcas-o-meter may need adjustment.

The girl is going to homeschool too. I guess her mother's not too happy with the school either.

Very informative post.I've used Albuterol and have never gotten a "buzz" so that info came as a surprise to me. It may work differently on different people.

I'm really surprised about the aspirin, but in a way it is understandable. We are living in a very litigous society and the schools have to be careful.
