How would Dan Abrams know? If it's not said in court and under oath, it doesn't matter.

Because Dan Abrams was in the courtroom today, taking notes. He was quoting the police testimony at the prelim hearing. It was said in court, under oath. It matters.

Dan Abrams said "consensual sexual encounter," too. And he was reading from his handwritten notes. And Abrams said that that part of it lasted over five minutes.

Abrams said the kissing and hugging went on for five minutes. He said that when the fondling and reaching under the clothing started, the accuser said she wanted to leave, and that Bryant forcibly detained her, bent her over a chair, and got what he wanted, while she continued to cry and protest.

They have pictures of the bruises - taken the night of the attack!

Actually at least 12 hours later.

The detective said he never noticed the bruise on her face during his interview with her. A nurse the next day who documented her injuries noticed it.

Interesting. Especially since he didn't interview her until after noon the next day, and the nurse saw her even later than that.

They chatted about tattoos and he asked her to show the tattoo she said she had on her back. She lifted her skirt and showed him.

This is clearly a problem for the prosecutors. She was doing some serious sexual flirting with him. Of course, this doesn't excuse rape but it shows she was very interested in the guy.

One other thing, this report says nothing about the forced oral sex mentioned in another post. Did the detective testify to that today?

The Kobots supported Clinton's rape of Juanita Broaddrick, too

You have just proved yourself a complete idiot and totally unreliable in anything you might post about this case.

As others have noted on this thread, bruises can take a while to appear.

The detective might not have noticed it because it takes a few hours sometimes for bruises to come out.

She never saw the police until after noon the next day.

The detectives went to her house after noon the next day; they then took her to the sheriff's office to make a statement.

It was later that day that she went to the hopstial. In fact, I believe I read that she and Kobe were at the hospital at the same time.

I wonder why the nurse noticed it and took pictures but the cop didn't notice it?

Surrounded by people she worked with and in an environment she was comfortable in may have lulled her into the false sense of security.

One problem with that: Dan Abrams said that the detective said she told him she took a roundabout way to get to his room so nobody would know she was in there.

The story about him not 'fessing up to the sex right off the bat is only media reported and not in court at this point, so we'll have to see the actual testimony to see if that's indeed how he behaved.

Just thinking out loud...

It was said in court, under oath.

"Snuck back up to his room" was testified to under oath? Snuck? You know better.

Thanks; as I said - I've paid zero attention until today and very little filtered down to me.

I gathered today was the first day that facial bruising was mentioned; that doesn't typically occur during consensual anything.

He was quoting what the detective testified to in the courtroom today.

Howlin - why do you think the nurse noticed the bruising but the detective did not?

Did the detective testify to that today?

Well, there was testimony about "kissing it," and I have NO idea whether that is considered oral sex in this day and age.

"Snuck back up to his room" was testified to under oath? Snuck? You know better.

Unless the reporters in the courtroom were lying about what they heard, that was part of the detective's testimony -- that the accuser said she deliberately took "a roundabout way" to get to his room, so that the people traveling with Bryant wouldn't see her.

Disclaimer: I think this sound pretty bad for Bryant, and at the moment I suspect he will be convicted. But that was part of the testimony today, according to reporters in the courtroom.
