Mack's boy is running for the US House-- not the Senate.

Didn't he serve in Vietnam?

Why, I believe you're right! His combat duty would make him a great leader of the country, don't you think?

"yes why doesn't Arlen Specter quit? "

It's the same theory about how good employees leave a company after a short time because they have skills and talent and are able to earn more and have more opportunities. The bad employees stick around as long as possible because they don't have any other options and the current situation is as good as they're going to get. I don't think any classy successful law firm would take ole Arlen, so he'll probably be there (in the Senate) until they wheel him out on a stretcher or he is voted out (yeah right).

"Let's hope J.C. Watts decides to run for his seat. " Or Steve Largent. How does one choose between two conservative football greats?

A runoff!

Bwahahahhaahhhahahahah!

PhiKapMom....I was offering my thoughts (not whining) in GENERAL terms about 'real conservatives' not specifically about Oklahoma, where it's two Senators are real CONSERVATIVES.

He was who I hoped would become Senate Leader, but we're stuck with Frist. Nickles is the best and I hope he will return to national politics because he's too valuable. I could see him as President.

Nickles, 54, was elected to the Senate in 1980, at the age of 31. He has maintained
a conservative voting record

Just like Mark Twain talking about the amazing increase in his father's intelligence
in a few years...
for my brother and myself, Nickles "got smarter" too!

What I mean is that when Nickles first ran, my brother and I were college age
and thus smarter than all those stody, conservative Republicans.
IIRC, my brother and I both thought Nickles wasn't very bright and were a bit
embarassed he was from our home town.

We were political morons. But we got better (Republican/more conservative).

...might just cause Chester Lott to resign.

I'd see Lott pulling a Jeffords first in order to rehabilitate his "legacy."

Saw an article this morning that Connie Mack's son is throwing his hat in the FL Senate race!

Pretty sure he's running for the House, not Senate. We already have 4 good conservatives running in FL.

How strong in Carson?

I'd like to see Dr. Tom Coburn make a comeback. He's conservative, and able to win a democrat district 3 times before he term limited himself(Carson's old one).

Arlen will be re-elected by Pennsylvania as long as he wants the seat.

Yes, I agree. Dr. Carson would be an excellent candidate.

1. Carson
2. Watts
3. Keating
4. Istook

Those are my four choices.
