The article says Cline "wore a wire" during the last two deliveries and gave the tapes to the authorities. These deliveries allegedly took place in a Denny's parking lot.

If she wore a wire, the wire would have been provided by the authorities, and there would be corresponding video also, if the authorities were doing a "sting".

It almost sounds like this maid did the sting by herself.

The most easily refuted piece in the story is that the maid said she hid the pills under the mattress to hide them from Marta. Everyone knows Rush doesn't sleep on just any mattress--he sleeps on a Select Comfort bed!

The olfactory senses recoil at this putrid mess--it stinks!

It's not hard to believe. And it doesn't make him an "immoral hypocrite," as the media nuts are so quick to declare. Addiction is addiction. I've known an alcoholic my whole life who has a genius IQ and couldn't stop drinking until he was given prescription medications. Addiction is horrible and destructive. I hope Rush sees this as a national intervention and admits his problem and gets real help.

I don't listen to Rush often. What has been his stance on the War on Drugs?

On the one hand, I'm not surprised, because, believe it or not, greater men than Rush have been hooked on the narcs.

On the other hand, if not true, this woman is going to get laced up for telling a major whopper if she's not telling the truth and is a RAT stoolie.

If Rush is in deep, I pray he gets his act together, because his particular (alleged) addiction is pretty nasty.

If true, why is it that people never learn that the hole they desire filled can never be filled without putting in what was intended? A relationship with Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who died then rose again, taking the sins and pain of the world.

For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world if he loses his soul?

People in power need Jesus just to stay together...just like everyone else, but with a much longer way to fall and with many more lives at stake.

We can take our cue as to whether any of this is true from the willingness of Rush to discuss this on his radio show. His attorney has probably advised him to keep quiet. I want to believe NONE of this is true but if it is, I hope Rush seeks help. I further hope that ALL Conservatives realize that THIS IS WAR and act accordingly!

The libs saw a perfect opportunity to strike down their arch-enemy after his problem with ESPN. It seems so silly for people here to actually be riled up over this. This will be a non issue in less than a week.

She also gave the Enquirer a ledger documenting how many pills she claimed to have bought for him - 4,350 in one 47-day period - and E-mails she claimed Limbaugh sent her.

I could make up a "ledger" in five minutes, by running to Staples and buying one, and then scribbling in there whatever I wanted to write.

Furthermore, the article says she gave her evidence to Palm Beach prosecutors in June of 2002, which by her claims would indicate she stopped getting pills for Rush at that point.

I know a little about pill addiction, and it seems to me Rush would have gone into hyper withdrawal for weeks if not months, and I don't recall anything out of the unusual.

Methinks she is making much of this up.

The accusations are damning, and shocking...but holy cow...this is a NEWS story? It's dripping with schadenfreude!

The moralizing motormouth...In one missive, Limbaugh pushed Cline to get more "little blues" - code for OxyContin, the powerful narcotic nicknamed hillbilly heroin...

If this had been Oprah Winfrey, would they have said, "the rotund egomaniac"? I think not!

She claimed that a lawyer for Limbaugh gave her a payoff - $80,000 he owed her, plus another $120,000 - and asked her to destroy the computer that contained the E-mail records.

Soon after, Cline and her husband retained Shohat and contacted prosecutors.

..............because?????

This is not a shining moment in journalism for the Daily News.

Wow, and some people accuse him of being out of touch with the common man!?

But seriuosly folks, Rush has been mixing his metaphors since the hearing loss problem; his command of the language has suffered. I, as a fan, noticed it, but I attributed it to the hearing problem. Could he be a bit stoned? I don't know, but his analysis has been as sharp as ever, and pain killers would have affected that, wouldn't they?

I hope this is BS, but if not, there are plenty of other good conservative talk shows on the air now, thanks to Rush. We owe him a debt of gratitude for that. He has helped save America.

The Enquirer employed the same law firm as the Clinton White House at one point (during impeachment) and Rush himself pointed out on many occasions how the tabloid made certain to legally watch it's butt. The National Equierer had a full out exchange of hostilities with the Clintons during that period. You might recall they broke many of Lewinski scandal highlights.

They always have lawsuits in the back of their heads. On something like this they will be certain they didn't print anything they hadn't verified from 2 sources.

That said, this still stinks of a political hit job. I can almost hear Michael Corleone before the baptism saying "today I settle all family business". Rush and Arnold impacting together, with the Bush/Wilson story still at full steam. Bill and Hillary, you just had to sign your message, didn't you?

Rove, you better grow a pair and answer them for this! Screew this Compasionate Conservatism bullshit. Do you want to give away everything next year?

As for Rush, I still respect him. It sounds like he needs help, but then again so did my dad once upon a time. I still love my dad and he's been sober for nearly 20 years. This isn't going to change the way I view Rush. I hope he gets well before something worse happens. Perhaps by having the story impact like this he will finally be forced to change. AA works Rush, check it out.
