On immigration Buchanan's been right for years. That's why the establishment of both parties went after him so hard, they prefer to keep things as they are.

If your country lets mass third-world immigration occur, your country will become third-world. Let me explain...
1. Most white Americans don't want the country to be overrun by foreigners.
2. The two political parties now cater to 1)the stupid, poor, and weird (Dem's), or 2)bidness (Pubsters). No one be rootin' for the middle class white taxpayer people AT ALL.
3. White Americans are apathetic, which is their downfall.
4. In 25 years it won't matter - think Kosovo, Lebanon, whatever third-world hell is your fave. It's the Demographics, Stupid.

That does seem to be the thinking doesn't it. What the "compassionate GOP" seems to forget is that without the conservative base they have no chance. They can't "out-liberal" the true libs in the dim party, so neither conservatives nor liberals will vote for them, the best they can do is try to play the old game of "talk conservative & vote liberal" in hopes of suckering in enough conservatives. That game has been played, but the conservative base is getting wise to it and before long they'll just sit out the election or vote 3rd party.

Pat's right on the money here. He's been saying the same thing for 10 years, but with the economy in the tank his message is finally being taken seriously.

If GW doesn't want to suffer the same fate as his father he'd better stop supporting this "open border" policy he seems to love.

Actually, we've got plenty of illegals from Ireland up here in New York. They're largely ignorant, belligerent, and alcoholics. No doctors in this crowd, but plenty of bartenders and busboys.

My medical insurance (through my employer) went up 30% in the course of one yar. Glad to know illegals get free medical care. Unbelievable. But I guess we can keep pretending that they'll one day become Reagan Conservatives.

What SS fund would that be? Unless the SS rate goes to 50%, the SS fund will be insolvent in about 20 years.

Thank God President Bush is overhauling the SS system, like he promised in 2000.
