Point B: The true sillyness of this California election can be seen if all candidates, except for one, received exactly the same number of votes. The "except for one candidate" would receive one more vote than any of the other candiidates. Thus, the "winner" of the election for a new CEO for the seventh largest economy in the World would have won with a vote total of less than one percent. The "winner" would thus have been voted against by over 99 percent of those voting. The "winner" would have been chosen by the present plurality election laws.

The exact same situation applies to the Presidency of the United States.
We have begun to expect Presidents to be elected by a majority vote, because historically there have been only two significant parties, and because the electoral system usually produces a strong majority, even when there is no significant majority in the popular vote. However no majority vote, except a brokered one in the House of Representatives is Constitutionally required

Perhaps you should go re read your high school Civics book before your next rant.

I read that sentence several times. Each time my mind saw "Psychology" as "Pathology." I wonder what that says about me?

:o)

Don't know what to tell you! What it said about "me" was no "MD" behind my name. I couldn't finish the class!!

So tell me if you can read this next sentence.

Tehy sya poeple raed wrods seplled icnorreclty as lnog as teh frist lteter is crroect.

You are making my point.

California is future shock for our Nation. The same system that has contributed to the mess in California has made a mess out of the U.S. Presidential races.

The California observations about "splitting the vote" and "dropping out for the good of the Party" have also been made in the races for the Presidency.

The effect of plurality election laws, (and this will not be found in your "civics book" ), has been to reduce the percentage of people who bother to vote. Only 49 percent of us bothered to vote in the last National Election.

If plurality election laws can be revoked in California, then it is likely that the rest of our Nation will also revoke plurality election laws.

As a Nation, we have drifted far from being a Republic, far from using the will of the majority, and now we are in this plurality morass where the minority governs the majority.

Don't look for the Political Parties to get rid of plurality election voting, as the Political Parties like to eliminate the competition for ideas early within their respective ranks, and present a united front "tweedle-dumb or tweedle-dumber" choice to the voters.

If our Nation is to change its election laws, the change will have to come from the efforts of the voters.

This is hardly new.
Thomas Jefferson and Aaron Burr tied for President.
Jefferson outbid Burr in the House of Representatives and bought the election.

Our country has always worked this way, and it continues to work. This is nothing to get upset about.

Searched the article for the following words... Illegal, Illegals, Alien, aliens, migrant, immigrant, immigration, drivers, license, and licenses. Nothing.

I searched for "60," as in SB 60. The only mention was in your tagline. No mention of Propositions 53 or 54, either, or anything about defending innocent life or our natural 2nd Amendment rights. In other threads is the fact that Schwarzenegger has opposed the referendum of SB 60. Nowhere have I seen a reasonable explanation for that abhorrent position.

Also, from the original letter, Haynes wrote of Schwarzenegger, "he has pledged to end the car tax." That is something frequently repeated but not quite true. No governor can simply repeal or "end" the VLF. McClintock said he would repeal the tripling of it if he were governor, and I thought Schwarzenegger adopted the same position until I heard him say he'd repeal the VLF, which is actually impossible. The VLF would still exist, whether at 2/3% or 2%. That's why McClintock wrote an initiative to repeal it completely. That initiative petition is now circulating to collect signatures. It is the only way to repeal the tax.

Ray just said everything I have said about Arnold and Tom.

Arnold is a leader who will surprise people by governing more to the right than what is expected.

Tom is in this for Tom and is a "little", self-centered man.

Anold supports the murder of 3000 innocent American babies every single day. Day after day. Today, manana. Next week, next month, and the month after that. And the year after that. 3000 a day, 21,000 dead every week, week after week. Arnold supports this holocaust. If you support Arnold you are supporting, advocating, encouraging, AND paying for the murder of 21,000 innocent unborn babies every single week of the year. This is much worse than what the Nazi regime could have dreamed of. Voting for someone who sees nothing wrong in MILLIONS OF BABIES, BEING KILLED BY THEIR VERY OWN MOTHERS EVERY YEAR. Arnold and his followers support this holocaust.

Vote for someone who is decent, who believes in God, who walks the walk of a Patriot, of a Christian. Its easy to write 20,000 words when you are trying to run away from your responsibility. It takes just a few to say the TRUTH.

VOTE FOR TOM McClintock. TOMAHAWK
