You just posted that same quote in #51. Do you know what a waste of hard drive storage space that is. Shame on you.

Arnold stated that he supports legislation to ban .50-caliber rifles, force gun buyers to pass a state-defined test in order to purchase a handgun, and require load indicators or magazine safety disconnects on new semiauto handguns.

*groan*

If Schwarzenegger plans to "work with" the legislature to get compromise bills, isn't that worse than if we had a governor who would veto these awful bills outright?

Worth reposting:

"I'm for gun control. I'm a peace-loving guy." - Time magazine cover story Aug 18, 2003. When interviewed on the issues by Sean Hannity on August 27th, Schwarzenegger admitted that he is for gun control. He said he supported both the Brady Bill and the ban on so-called "assault weapons." He said "also I would like to close the loophole of the gun shows." When asked by the Sacramento Bee to detail his positions on gun issues (scroll down), Arnold stated that he supports legislation to ban .50-caliber rifles, force gun buyers to pass a state-defined test in order to purchase a handgun, and require load indicators or magazine safety disconnects on new semiauto handguns.

Oh, I see. You can't chew the whole quote in one go. let's break it down in bite-sized pieces:

Arnie Anti-2nd Amendment Bite No 1: "I'm for gun control. I'm a peace-loving guy."

How did it taste? If you haven't replied in one minute, I'll assume you've either swallowed or vomited and are ready for the next bite.

What compromise? He endorses the gun grabber agenda right across the board.

"Who is Tom McClintock?"

To avoid ANY confusion, McClintock is NOT to confused with the cartoonish, action figure trojan horse Kennedy-esque Democratic candidate touted by the the CA GOP's red-light district hierarchy.

I support them also. I am very strong supporter of the Second Ammendment rights.

Unfortunetly, my chances of becoming the Califronia Goveronor are just as slim as McClintock's.

All of life and especially life involves some compromise. Unless of course you want to live in a fantasy world. In fatasy world, you never have to compromise.

Reagan said his enemy was not someone who he agreed with on 8 out of 10 things.

It does not matter one damn what Tom or you guys want or stand for because he will not win and hence it's irrelevant. About irrelevant as me saying "If I'm elected in the recall, I'll give every freeper 5 custom made assault rifles with a lifetime supply of ammo."

"The only fantasies I have are about my future," Arnold told Playboy interviewer Joan Goodman in 1987. "Daydreams, I would say. I have a very
strong power of vision... It's not something I do with a conscious effort at all. I don't say, 'Let me think about where I would like to be 10 years from now.' It just runs by, like a movie. The visions come in from somewhere, and then I go after those things. I may be guided by my visions more than by conscious decisions."

In 1977, when his principal fame was still as the most successful bodybuilder in the sport's history, Arnold discussed his future with the German magazine _Stern_: "When one has money, one day it becomes less
interesting. And when one is also the best in film, what can be more interesting? Perhaps power. Then one moves into politics and becomes governor or president or something." Something, indeed.

1976 Rolling Stone Interview

"At that point, I didn't think about money. I thought about the fame, about just being the greatest. I was dreaming about being some dictator of a country or some savior like Jesus . . ."

For example, in a mail order pamphlet he wrote in 1977 entitled "Arnold: Developing a Mr. Universe Physique," Schwarzenegger claimed, "Yes, I have used them, but no, they didn't make me what I am. Anabolic steroids were helpful to me in maintaining muscle size while on a strict diet in preparation for a contest."

CLONE RANGER
Schwarzenegger does a double-take in 'The 6th Day'

Q: So cloning is not a bad thing?

A: I think it is a very serious issue that cannot be
stopped. It's the same as with nuclear weapons and all
that stuff. The big danger is how you keep guidelines
so that it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. I
understand why some people that are religiously
fanatic feel uncomfortable with it. But I think that's a
mistake, because using religious grounds to not make
something move forward has always backfired.

How can he "compromise" when he has already sold out gun owners?

- [F]orce gun buyers to pass a state-defined test in order to purchase a handgun, and

- [R]equire load indicators or magazine safety disconnects on new semiauto handguns."

What compromise?

Some newbie provided an example of what some GOPers say here. Basically, the liberal Republicans think that McClintock won't be able to govern even if he wins, because the liberal legislature won't send him anything worthy of his signature, so Schwarzenegger (who presumably would work with the legislature to compromise on bills) supposedly would be better able to pass bills.

Of course, we get so many bills each year, almost everything is regulated and has legislation relating to it. We really don't need many more besides the annual budget bills. With the legislature as liberal as it is, it might be better if they passed nothing except the budget.

Why should gun owners support an enemy like Schwarzenegger?

Why should gun owners support a clear and present enemy like Cruz by voting for McClintock?
