More than 50 sexual offenders detained by immigration authorities

Federal immigration authorities in South Florida have detained and put in deportation proceedings 56 foreign nationals from 18 countries convicted of sexual offenses against children, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced Friday.

Officials said the detainees, 49 men and 7 women, were rounded up in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties over three days and taken to detention facilities to await deportation.

Crimes for which these foreign nationals were convicted include sexual battery on a minor, lewd and lascivious behavior and child abuse, the statement said. Another case listed in the statement was manslaughter involving a 4-month-old child.

The operation is the latest under a national initiative announced in July by Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge to rid the country of foreign sexual predators.

According to the statement more than 1,000 such sexual predators have been detained nationwide since July 9.

The damage already done is catastrophic , but if the Feds secured the borders NOW , and rounded up the illegals already in the USA , we might survive . The time is now for American citizens to get their rumps off the sofa and eyes off the boob tube and make SURE the aforementioned measures are taken . Mass demonstrations must be organized NOW .

Amen! But how do we ever get the INS to get their fat butts out of their office chairs and into the field to deport these criminals?

We spend a lot of budget money on the INS and they fail to get the job done worse than a DC elementary school does. It's time for some accountability.

If we continue to allow this huge number of third world immigrants flood across our southern border, whether legal or illegal, it is only a matter of time before they want, make that DEMAND, economic or political control.

It might not happen next year, or even in 10 years. (Walk down any street in an east coast city, and you will barely find any english speaking people)


I keep having visions of my children or grandchildren having to fight to keep American culture alive and well in the years to come.

I used to be a health inspector. One day I was having a particularly difficult time with the owner of a Chinese restaurant. I was trying to close it down because of a failing score and she wouldn't abide by the order, and of course the workers (all "immigrants") feigned ignorance of English.

In frustration, I said "If this restaurant doesn't close down NOW, I'll have to call the Marshall!"

Within ten seconds every employee had run out the back door.

I was on a public bus involved in a fender bender when the driver was in the right (of the law). He pulled over to wait for the authorities, and all but maybe 4 people remained on a PACKED bus after he opened the doors. They scattered like so many bugs. The driver needed "witnesses" not "deportees." However, the authorities were on there way.

As regards your service, nice to know that "someone" used to take their responsibility seriously! And I'm no longer likely to visit and/or entertain these venues that employ illegals because they have this mindset that it's "a done deal."

I walk down the street all the time and hear people speaking english. I went into a spanish bakery to buy coffee and the lady didn't know any english. I told her she has to learn english in order to succeed in America. I told her she will only get so far. Well she's now going to nightschool to learn english.

The nation's Hispanic population is keeping up its explosive growth of the 1990s, led by states in the South and West, the first detailed Census Bureau estimates since the 2000 national head count show. Tennessee's 11.6 percent Hispanic population growth ranked 11th in the nation, from an estimated 125,330 in 2000 to 139,861 in 2002. The number of Hispanics in the United States grew by 8.6 percent.


Bedford County ranks fifth in the state in population growth (26.5 percent) and ninth in overall population, with an estimated 3,619 residents. Hispanic activists and people who work with the Hispanic population estimate these numbers to be off as much as 50 percent.

People who speak spanish do not bother me. Illegal aliens do. But as long as there are politicians who cherish votes over national security,etc. do not expect this problem to go away.
