dude, just say you hate God and move ondude, I don't hate god, but I don't care for people who cash in on people's fear, ignorance, and uncertainty with fairy tales.

You should have been around during the persecution of Christians in the early Roman era. They were fed to wild animals, tortured, and even.....crucified.
And all of that was in the knowledge of God.
Have you ever wondered what His purpose might be?

Gunslingr, I track with you on this. Obviously, most people don't. You're processing reality at a different level than most people. Different from most people who believe in God, and also almost certainly different from most people who don't.
I've done a lot of thinking about the same kinds of questions. Years' worth. It's hard to put conclusions into a few sentences, but let me give it a shot:
Reality is extremely complex and involves hard questions. Things that appear to be unqualified disasters aren't always unqualified disasters, and even if they are, they may well be redeemed by future events as yet unknown. Life sometimes involves a great deal of pain, but joy is to be found as well. Believing that God exists or doesn't exist comes down to a choice. When you've looked at enough of the many considerations, either choice is intellectually reasonable. From the practical standpoint, it makes more sense to believe in God than not to believe in God, because it is better in life to have faith than not to have faith.

Wonder how he felt about Jesus after all-knowing, all-powerful, and infinitely merciful god pinned him in an elevator and cut off his head...He did it all for you...

contributory negligence alert! If the elevator-panel was miswired, contributory negligence will not have a bearing on this case.
