Cet animal est trop mechant Quand on l'attacque il se defend! (This beast is quite mischievous For, when attacked, it defends itself!)

It explains a lot if this is really a nursery rhyme that French kids learns

Mark Twain said the chief office of a friend is to support you, even when you are wrong!

OTOH, what he said about the French was:

A dead Frenchman has many good qualities, many things to recommend him; many attractions--even innocencies. Why cannot we have more of these?

French are the connecting link between man & the monkey.

In certain public indecencies the difference between a dog & a Frenchman is not perceptible.

There is nothing lower than the human race except the French.

Good post. Thank you!

The issue of whether or not military action should be taken against Saddam Hussein was never properly debated in France. In fact, France is the only major democracy where the parliament did not devote a single debate to Iraq.

Who knew?

Anti-Americanism as a substitute for policy is sustained thanks to a number of myths and outright lies....

"We were on their side when they were attacked," notes an editorialist on the state-owned radio France Inter. "They must understand that we cannot be on their side when they are attacking others."

We understand no such thing your fickle, cowardly Frogs! And you are educating us more and more as to the extent of French duplicity. And deceit. That, we will not forget.

So thanks for the lesson France. And don't expect to see us at what is no longer our favorite holiday destination. And never was!

i>Why do I not care about the French?

Because "La France" is an irrelevant little has-been who covets the power of the mighty United States. Go USA!

Besides, who needs friends like these?

Saddam Hussein, second from left, and Jacques Chirac, right, confer in Iraq's French-built nuclear power plant in the 1970s.
