Blacken Red Snapper is my specialty. You should try it in Florida. I can only eat chicken bar-b-qued myself. AND I just polished off a Hormel "Beef of Sirloin" marinated in Tequila and lime. LOL.
I have been doing some research for the last few minutes...trying to remember some biochem. Seems like there are a couple of amino acids that you can't really get from any other source but meat. Red meat. Tryptophan and lysine I believe. I'm going to keep looking.

I don't think tryptophan is found in dairy products, but spinach, cabbage, almonds, lima and kidney beans are some sources.

That sign that says "We have the right to refuse service to anyone" gives them the right to show their bias, without recourse.
Lovely thought. They are trying to encourage the starving of an infant. Makes me think of the Schiavo case.

Essential Amino Acids
TRYPTOPHAN
Tryptophan is very important in the body. A precursor to the vital neurotransmitter, serotonin, tryptophan levels in the body regulate moods and sleep. Low levels of tryptophan have been found in people with dementia and manic depression. A natural relaxant, tryptophan has helped alleviate insomnia in many people. Vitamin B6, C, folic acid and magnesium are needed to metabolize tryptophan. Although not particularly high in any food, typtophan can be found in meat, eggs, dairy products and some nuts and seeds.

I'll accept the proposition that a lot of Vegans are tin foil hat-wearing Dorkmiesters with an Oak Leaf Cluster, but the fact remains that she was on their property. Well said. I feel the same way about anti-smoking laws. Businesses should be free to choose whether they choose to allow smoking or not in their establishment.
If Mom didn't like the restaurant's policy, she is free to take herself and her baby elsewhere.

But I don't like those "Are you really going to eat that?" kind of people. My reply? "Yes, I am. Now, are you really going to shut up?"

I agree with the restaurant...Why should they heat up a bottle of food in their microwave that they don't want to. First she brings a baby in and then expects them to do the work. What about their rights.

What if someone asked a Kosher restaurant to heat up a ham sandwich. It's just not done.

Maybe she's better at making she gets enough protein, and she's worried that her child would not get enough eating vegan baby food.
Maybe she was overweight or something that caused her to become a vegan.
Maybe she'll leave that decision up to the child.
Whatever the case, she's not fanatical about meat.
To: ambrose
I believe in property rights but this is down-right silly....
would have been better for the management to in a polite way ask the woman not to bring that evil baby food meat anymore, rather than have this hit the media.....
but no...people just have to make a "statement" and have the resulting scene just to make them feel good....

I like people who are polite enough not to interrogate other people about what's on their plateI agree 100% and find it odd that people say anything about what others eat. I have lived and traveled all over the world and know of fewer than 10 things I will not eat.

Vegan intolerance. I guess vegan liberals look down on meat eaters as savage rednecks... even when they're feeding a baby. Incredible!
