thanks for the complete update. Prayers to you and all there. What a good man to help neighbors and church.

After 48 hours without power, we're back in business here in Chesterfield County VA.

My guess is that he is too busy cleaning things up to FReep.

Sorry my power was out for a while. That was not me in the picture. I was wearing a red Speedo.

Well, I'm back (for a while).

My workplace didn't suffer any damage, so we're open today. I wish I could say the same about a lot of the people on the Peninsula. A lot of folks have damaged houses due to falling trees and flooding. Our house came through fine, but we've been without power since mid-day Thursday. I spent Friday and Saturday helping neighbors with my chainsaw and helping clear debris at church for Sunday services.

Folks around here are beginning to get edgy. Some didn't prepare for the storm so they're beginning to run out of food and essentials. Some folks are running generators to save their frigs/freezers, but they started running out of gas this weekend. People were lined up around the block at the few operating gas stations getting fuel for their vehicles and generators. General stress is building and a few fist fights have broken out over gas, ice, etc. Also, the police set a curfew between 2300 and 0700 due to cases of looting.

My family and I are fine. I've always laid in enough camp stoves, lanterns, and fuel to last for a week, plus we have enough canned/dry food to last. Supposedly, we should get power back by Thursday (fingers crossed).

(As an aside, my wife's teased me for years about my tendency to stockpile camping and emergency supplies, calling me a survivalist. She came as close as she could to an apology to me this weekend when she admitted that it was a good thing I had supplies laid aside for us and to share with our neighbors in need.)

Anyway, we're hanging in there just waiting for the infrastructure to return. Hey, at least the kids understand the meaning of "infrastructure" now!

At least something good came out of it.

You're a very good person. Hopefully you will get power back soon.

Glad to hear you're doing ok. We lost water and power Thursday night. Got water back Saturday. Got power back this morning. No trees down in our yard at all. A total miracle! Lots of debris to clean up but nothing major. Had to throw away almost all my food in the fridge and both freezers. That was the hardest thing I had to do, I think. Still, in all, it could have been so much worse.

BTW, I was under in my estimates of how many customers would be out of power. I said 1M. Turned out to be 1.8M.

My grandparents used to have a house in Pasadena. I wonder how that old house fared? The Chesapeake really took a hit with the storm surge.

Glad you're ok.

Glad to hear you and your family are okay. It took my wife a while to buy-in to my food storage antics... but we have enough for us for a good while, and if need be, several families for a shorter duration.

God bless.
