My roof in the living room is now leaking a substantial amount of water. It is a new roof to boot. Crap!

I'm using buckets already too...but it isn't that we've had that much rain yet. The landlord just didn't get the roof fixed like he said he was gonna! Arhggg... ;-)

When will the worst of it hit Northern Virginia/DC?

Worst may be now til 3-4 am, Reagan reports gusts to 57 mph. Said doubt will get hurricane winds. (According to WMAL)

Rain may only 2-3 inches.

172,00 w/o power in DC and MD but should increase.

Yep, the bucket boogie is going on here. My 7 yo was playing a video game and came running to me screaming that it was raining in the living room. At first, I was upset but now I am going with the flow. Of course the hubby is another story as he is the one on the roof.

We have buckets of all sizes and colors, pots and pans, you name it. Plastic all over the furniture and electronics. It looks like a house out of the movie Deliverance around here. All that is missing is the banjo player. I am sure there is one in the neighborhood somewhere.

Said doubt will get hurricane winds.

Now you're singin' my song...

57 mph gusts at Reagan sounds about right...that's only a couple of miles from here as the crow flies...if any crows are dumb enough to be flyin', that is. ;-)

Yeah classic, someone with a Tivo should snag it later for an example of government waste.

If what's going on here is headed your way, you're not quite out of it. The gusts are as bad as ever, but they seem to be fewer...or maybe I'm just getting used to it.

And whatever I'm getting, CD is getting worse, I'm sure.

Any news on Chatham county? I'm watching the WRAL stream and they don't mention any damage or power outtages there.

LOL. You have to find some humor in things like this. My heart and prayers to those who have suffered TRUE damage and loss to their homes. Now the tornado in Norfolk? I am blessed.

Chatham Co is usually a bad weather magnet isn't it? I am always hearing Severe TS warnings and tornado warnings for that county during stormy season.
