I found this on the MSNBC website.

The surf claimed Isabel’s first victim Thursday when a man who was watching the storm with his wife while walking their dog on Black Point in Naragansett, R.I., was swept away and drowned, NBC affiliate WJAR-TV of Providence reported. Authorities recovered his body but had not immediately identified him.

We're out of the worst of it, but still getting lots of wind and rain.

Our yard and deck are covered with live leaves that have stripped off branchs. We haven't lost any trees yet, but that's probably because Fran and the ice storm winnowed out all of the weak ones.

The dogs WILL NOT go outside, not even in their cute little raincoats!

hmm; all from NC; the one with the roof off is from Atlantic Beach, as is the pier picture. the tree down is from Raliegh. The others I forgot to remember...

I use to live 30 minutes from Atlantic Beach and was in Bertha, Fran and Dennis. I saw my uncle's, grandfather's and neighbors 100 ft piers get picked up by the wind and crash down and remember the storm surge coming quicker then a blink of the eye. These are incredible to see in a picture but the real thing is very frightning and dangerous.
