He didn't say this last summer because it would have been seen, rightly so, as biased, and he had to go through the motions, don't you know, to satisfy the evil US in its 9 month "rush" to war. I would put the "sarcasm off" tag on here, except that I am too disgusted by this hack.

He was siezing or creating any excuse to have a showpiece war against an easy and already villified enemy.

For what purpose? Family revenge? Oil? To win back the Senate? He was bored? Surely, he couldn't have thought war with Iraq would pay political dividends two years forward in 2004.

There is no question that the WMD are under the bed...

Before the invasion of Iraq, I too was convinced that WMD not only existed in Iraq but that they posed a real threat to the safety of America. I believed President Bush when he said that American troops may have to die in an effort to find and destroy those weapons and I completely supported his decision. However, (at least to this point) no weapons of mass destruction have been found in Iraq. Suggestions that there really are WMD in Iraq but the administration can’t say anything about it for security reasons is ridiculous considering American troops are the security in Iraq. Even more preposterous is the notion that President Bush is withholding information to later embarrass Democrats.

It appears that either President Bush lied to the American public or he and the rest of our government were ill-informed. In either case, the lives of American soldiers were sacrificed for that lie or misinformation. Both those who supplied the information and those that acted upon it should be held responsible – no matter what political party.

Those are your only two choices?

The US received bogus foreign intellegence about WMD to pull us into this war. Bush was duped and heads should be rolling.

Powell's demonstration at the UN proves you completely wrong. The Bush adminstration along with Bush are still insisting there is WMD...something is up far more than either you or I can image, just because they don't tell YOU does not mean Bush received bogus info.

Given the fact that they have found no WMD in Iraq, can you think of any others?

The administration was WRONG about WMD apparently. This does not make them liars, unless you count the majority of the international community "liars", since most intelligence services believed Iraq to still possess WMD. Even Blix says that Iraq essentially bluffed that it had WMD, to thward military attack(?!). Saddam bluffed, the US Called him on it. Until the invasion, NO ONE could be SURE whether or not there were any WMD there or not. So in essense, the invasion had to happen.

What I will agree with is that the intelligence service(s), heck, from ALL countrys apparently, are woefully inadequate. Certainly some heads should roll, and/or we REALLY need to beef up the CIA et al.

"Now he tells us."

Now, he just wants to not be recognized as stupid as he is. But, by trying to show how smart he is, if true he only shows that he didn't tell us then so that he could keep getting paid for nothing. Now that he is not getting paid he can say whatever he wants.

Then why did we bomb Iraq in 98 when they did find some WMD? Why did other nations intelligence services said they did? Anybody who believes in Blix is a moron.

Let's assume that they did - I would believe that Saddam would do such a thing in an effort to feign cooperation and reduce the scrutiny so he could support terrorist activities. Were I an Arab-Muslim terrorist I would realize that the greatest weapon I could use is the accessibility of the US due to our freedoms.

Either way we have all the reason we need to go after Saddam and his ilk.

Blix reasoning makes no sense. Iraq "PRETENDS" to have WMD to DETER an attack that would NEVER take place if he SHOWS he has NONE.

The "Stumping for Saddam" brigades have a passion play that reads like the OJ trial.

Saddam is innocent of WMD, OJ innocent of murder.

Furman lied about the glove because he was racist, Bush lied about Saddam because of oil, daddy's revenge, and he wants a US empire.

Dramatic for those on the jury who believe with great fervor preposterous things.

All right. Where is the poison? The battle of wits

has begun. It ends when you decide and we both

drink, and find out who is right...and who is dead.

Vizzini: But it's so simple. All I have to do is divine from

what I know of you: are you the sort of man who

would put the poison into his own goblet or his

enemy's? Now, a clever man would put the poison into

his own goblet, because he would know that only a

great fool would reach for what he was given. I am

not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the

wine in front of you. But you must have known I was

not a great fool, you would have counted on it, so I

can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.

Dread Pirate Roberts:

You've made your decision then?

Vizzini: Not remotely. Because iocane comes from Australia, as

everyone knows, and Australia is entirely peopled

with criminals, and criminals are used to having

people not trust them, as you are not trusted by me,

so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of

you.

Dread Pirate Roberts:

Truly, you have a dizzying intellect.

Vizzini: WAIT TILL I GET GOING! Where was I?

Dread Pirate Roberts:

Australia.

Vizzini: Yes, Australia. And you must have suspected I would

have known the powder's origin, so I can clearly not

choose the wine in front of me.

Dread Pirate Roberts:

You're just stalling now.

Vizzini: You'd like to think that, wouldn't you? You've beaten

my giant, which means you're exceptionally strong,

so you could've put the poison in your own goblet,

trusting on your strength to save you, so I can

clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But,

you've also bested my Spaniard, which means you must

have studied, and in studying you must have learned

that man is mortal, so you would have put the poison

as far from yourself as possible, so I can clearly

not choose the wine in front of me.

Dread Pirate Roberts:

You're trying to trick me into giving away something.

It won't work.

Vizzini: IT HAS WORKED! YOU'VE GIVEN EVERYTHING AWAY! I KNOW

WHERE THE POISON IS!

NO ONE could be SURE whether or not there were any WMD there or not. So in essense, the invasion had to happen.

But invading Iraq did not solve that problem. We are still not “sure”. To make it worse we are still not sure that Syria or Palestine or Iran or Malaysia or other Islamic countries do not have the same WMD. All we have accomplished is the overthrow of a petty Arab dictator and commenced the rebuilding of an Islamic state. Frankly, this isn’t worth the life of one American solider.
