Foreign competition Linux is not a company. The closest thing linux has to a "headquarters" is in Beaverton, OR.
That is where you will find the Open Source Development Labs, which employs Linus Torvalds. OSDL is a non-profit corporation supported by a who's who of the computer industry (minus of course Microsoft).
Linux is no more "foreign" than is Microsoft Office, which was architected by Charles Simonyi, a furriner from a communist country who at one one time was the Chief Architect of the Microsoft Corporation.

If Microsoft doesn't stop that Lexmark machine in their accounting office then the Chinese won't HAVE TO compete. All they will have to do is buy up all this bad paper that laughingly goes by the name of M$ stock and it's RED FLAG WINDOWS TIME!!!

OSDL is a non-profit corporation... This is not a point you need to make to me, I assure you.

Why bother with these Linux kiddies? I saw the same frothing-at-the-mouth loons singing the praises of DR-DOS, Apple, OS/2, NeXT, Netscape, Java, etc. Over the years I've found that a sure sign of the impending failure of these campaigns is the claims that a Vast Microsoft Marketing Conspiracy, VMMC(TM), is what's keeping them down.
After a few years, they're usually viewed as the weird uncle no one talks about.

Why bother with these Linux kiddies? Because I've had enough of their vile hatred of anyone who charges money for software, which happens to be my business. And they're such easy targets of course, not even realizing how ridiculous most of their commments look to the well established.

LMAO, if you want to see a really mixed up guy, check out 'Coral Snake'. I haven't figured out if he really is that psychotic, or just does his act for attention. Probably both.
Anyway, feel free to join in, I've scored enough points for one night anyway. Cheers.
To: Golden Eagle
Come to think of psychotics have you EVER gotten a load of that one that dances like a monkey, acts like a crazy idiot and sweats like a pig that Bill (Combover) Gates put in the Microsoft CEO SEAT.

Putting aside the SCO controversy, Unix sales are down due to
competition not theft. You conviently seem to ignore Microsoft's success in the desktop and midrange segments, and you won't seem to admit that other companies benefit when trends change against the favor of others. The tide turned against IBM with the PC boom in favor of Microsoft. This is not stealing, it's business. In the future, I guarantee that some other technology will supplant what we use today. Market conditions change. Companies that don't adapt to chaning market conditions lose market share.
You never seem to miss a chance to question someone's loyalties and patriotism. :/

Mr. Gates is both corporately and personally shoveling cash into SCO, while that company engages in activities which are quite beneficial to Microsoft, but almost guaranteed to destroy SCO. That would account for someone else's post earlier stating that there is a flurry of insider trading as the major SCO insiders apparently are continuing to dump SCO stock at a furious pace. I haven't followed up to be sure that that is true. Does anyone know of the current status of SCO insider trading?

Just Been over to Yahoo Finance. Most execs are still dumping but Darl McBride, (I think he intends on being the last rat to leave the sinking ship.)
The stock has been pumped almost up to current Microsoft levels. Wouldn't buy any though. It has been comming off a LEXMARK MACHINE lately just like Microsoft's too and they don't have anything to sell but frivolous lawsuits anyway.

Here is an even more interesting list I founds by clicking on the SCOX Insider's roster:
SCO Insider Roster
This actually shows the amount of stock currently OWNED by each SCO Executive, (again except for Darl McBride for some reason) and clearly shows that toe of them are already COMPLETELY CASHED OUT.

Putting aside the SCO controversy, Unix sales are down due to competition not theft. Yeah and Ray Ban and Oakley face competition from cheap fakes made down in Mexico which probably keep their price down too. Music and movies are facing tough competition from Kazaa which is hosted over in Indonesia or somewhere. Likewise Linux is a cheap rip off of Unix and I choose not to support it. I support American products, designed and built in America. Some don't, but I'll never agree with them. And I'm not about to apologize for it.

"Linux is no more foreign than is Microsoft Office" You missed one--ShadowLinux (out of Virginia), based on LFS, another American group.
