"'I was always going to change back,' Decker said yesterday"
He had to plan to change back to have a shot at re-election. Kick the traitor out, or he will switch again.

Maybe he realized that North Carolina is a Republican state (not a Vermont) and decided that such a switch was pure folly. At least he came back to the right folks.
Even still, he really can't be trusted for anything super-significant now.

Hit me once, shame on you. Hit me twice, shame on me.
He wouldn't want to take a second shot at me, and I wouldn't give him the opportunity.

In a district in which Democrats didn't even field a candidate last year, he won 85 percent of the vote against a lone Libertarian candidate in 2002.15% is pretty good for a libertarian.

15% is pretty good for a libertarian.

Let ME know when I can be of assistance. I'll stomp for any real republican they can find up there.

Is this an example of the "do it my way NOW or I'll destroy the world" attitude of too many Conservatives? No, for one thing I find that that attitude is generally held by "moderates" who won't play ball on anything and generally hamstring the conservative base of the party, and for another think Decker switched because he's a little bitch who didn't want Leo Daughtry to be Speaker.
