If there are any more Johnny Jihads out there...then lets not waste time bringing them back to the US. Establish a 20 year period that they must remain outside of the US if they are found to be helping the 'enemy'. Let them figure out where they want to stay for the next 20 years. Sorry for the families...but they should have told little Johnny what being a citizen means.

I would guess that release of names is imminent. I doubt they would even state they have them if that wasn't the case.
Add me to the list of "pingees" if you find out any more.

I will bet some of these guys were members of different Nat'l Guard units, or even our armed forces at some point.

A search through the DOD information site revealed 7 articles in the last 4 hours, most appear to be repeats of the AP article.
From the Khaleej Times Online/AFP, this is a bit new, evidently this post is due to the 800th MP Brigade holding a "media day":
***snip***
Brigadier General Janis Karpinski also said that 10,000 inmates were being held in jails around Iraq on either criminal charges or as suspected security cases, double the previously reported figure 5,000.
Karpinski said that several hundred third-country nationals were among the prisoners held on security grounds since Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein was overthrown in April by US and British forces.
Six are claiming to be Americans and two are claiming to be from the UK, she said, as coalition military police held Abu Ghuraib Media Day at the prison 20 kilometers (12 miles) west of Baghdad.
Investigators were seeking to determine whether the claims of US or British nationality were correct. We are continuing the interviews, she said.

These people should never be allowed on US soil. They should be interrogated and kept in Iraq until they can be transferred to Gitmo.
To: Miss Marple
I agree, however, once their names are released we'll have relatives being pushed (by the left)in front of microphones demanding their "rights". Followed by the aclu, etc...
To: Miss Marple
The 9th Ninny Court has ruled that the election cannot go forward unless they are supplied with secure absentee ballots.
To: Miss Marple
These people should never be allowed on US soil. They should be interrogated and kept in Iraq until they can be transferred to Gitmo. Respectfully, why waste the gas to ship them to Gitmo? We can convene military tribunals in-country just as easily. The trial should be held in the juristiction the crime was commited after all. 8^)
