Police Searching Bay For Peterson Clues Gag Order Prevents Authorities From Sharing Details

New activity in the Laci Peterson case Friday.

Police confirmed with NBC11 that they were back in the water Friday afternoon, searching the waters not far from where the bodies of Laci and her unborn son, Connor, were found.

Because of a gag order in the case, authorities are not able to confirm what they were looking for.

The Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department did confirm that it was assisting the Modesto Police Department.

In the space of 19 months, two nationally watched tragedies emerged from Modesto with the disappearances of Chandra Levy and Laci Peterson.
Now some supporting cast members from both dramas are appearing together in Modesto night spots.

Murder suspect Scott Peterson's lead attorney, Mark Geragos, won't say why he's been sharing drinks and cigars with Cadee Condit, daughter of former Rep. Gary Condit, other than that she's a client.

Does't it sound just like Scott an admitted fan of the "Soprano's", to talk to underworld types to "steal" his vehicle or "kidnap",his wife. On the other hand it also sounds like a Geragos leak, tan van,neo-nazi's ummmmm any thoughts?

An elaborate ruse? Could be a con by Geragos using the age old "let the mark do all the work". MPD is back in the Bay and possibly spending alot of time this story. OTOH, verifying the people and vehicles, etc. should be easy if this is the real deal. Interesting to say the least. Or it could all be phony and this attorney is looking for his 15 minutes. Who knows anymore?

It's hard to know what to make of it. On one hand (if it's true) it helps the prosecution with their theory of premeditation. On the other hand, I agree, it connects with the "brown van" theory. Maybe SP claims that he hired someone to steal the SUV and they went too far. But then how would that "story" fit into the "satanic cult" theory? Oh dear, Geragos has me so confused I'm just not sure anymore that Scott really did it! ;)

I was thinking all sorts of things last night, now with this, like Dev said, maybe they are back in the bay trying to link up something. Now I wonder if LE has questioned these fools.
Either way, Snott is where he belongs...awaiting trial for the murders of his wife and son.
