What if ONLY the part of Carroll's story about meeting Scott at City Lights and discussing having the Petersons' car stolen--what if ONLY that part of his story is true?Then I would think the winds of change would be blowing in this case.

I have thought the exact same thing Yaelle!! A guy who seems to COMPLETELY lack emotion could certainly have killed before. It has occured to me many times. He just does NOT suffer from guilt!! Not that I can see. He was laughing and yapping on the cell phone at the Search the Night they started searching. Laci's family said "All he did was talk on the phone"!!!

I'd never heard that Laci's family said "all he did was talk on the phone" back then. But it sure fits the picture we have of him. I guess he was enjoying all the attention, all the focus on POOR SCOTT.
