You are abusing your namesake.

He's quoting Ronald Reagan's son.

I think AS should step aside and let McClintock use the same magic that elected Governor Simon.

Had our pathetic state 'Republican' party not gotten in a snit when the great unwashed rejected their annointed choice, RINO Riordon, they would have been willing to pump a bit of cash into the campaigns of both Simon and McClintock in 2002. Had that happened, Governor Simon and his Controller Tom McClintock would have had a turn-around started two years ago.

OK, I'll admit it -- I exaggerated. Simon ran a terrible campaign. He may not have won even with the support of the state party. The lack of party support certainly didn't help though.

The Rev. Lou Sheldon, who is leading the effort, said his great fear is that Schwarzenegger
will take over the state Republican Party -- and marginalize
religious conservatives.

Too bad the Rev. won't grasp the term "the law of unintended consequences" before he
gets his invitation to Governor Bustamante's Inaugural Ball.

I'll take it as a testament to the Rev.'s substantial faith to think religious conservatives
haven't yet been marginalized in a state where the Democrats (mostly
secular liberal-humanists) are holding all major state offices and have
the run of the state senate and assembly.
And the two U.S. Senate positions.
